Pantone branded folding chairs
A little graphic designerly eye candy for Friday: Judy alerted me to these Pantone folding chairs designed by Selab Studio for Seletti, just one more item in Pantone's ever-expanding product line. (Available at many retailers, including Heliotrope or Broadway Paper.) I love them dearly! Just one question: where's the orange?

Oh, I want some! Yeah, where's the orange?
Love, love, LOVE them! And yes - that is a good question!

those are pretty sweet!
Gee, too bad they don't have orange, or I'd have gotten you a set of every color for Christmas.
Mum/ha!
Maybe they haven't considered it, haha.
Hey Jessica, I have a blogging question. I often find great design images or product images at various websites that I want to post on my blog for my readers to see. If I always link back (saying where I got the pic) is it ok to take without asking? Does anyone actually contact people asking to use images for that is essentially free advertising?
For example, you found these great chairs and borrowed the pic for your blog. What's the process that goes on there?
These are so neat!
They colored them in CMYK and RGB... except B looks more like P(urple)!
Neat though.
Piper, you can read this if you want.
My take on it is this: Using a copyrighted image falls under Fair Use if you are reporting something as news or commenting on it from your own perspective.
Most product photos like this one come originally from the companies' own press kits, which they send out all over the place in hopes that the media will show off their stuff and get people to buy it. Credit the company, and they'll likely be very happy for the post. Seems like the convention in blog land is that it's okay to use product or marketing photos without seeking permission, as long as you say what it's of/where it came from.
Good question. "Fair use" is murky, but in reality, no one's going to sue you for helping them sell things. Worst case, they'll ask you to take down the picture.
Thanks! I'm learning all I can. I'll read it!
Now these are out of sight cool! I just saw some mugs the other day in the Dick Blick catalog.
Oh, these are some great chairs! I love the idea to put them on the wall, wish I had space enough to do that too!
These would be really fun for an ad agency.
ex-ce-len-to. well spotted!
amazing! they put color in every room!
At your home I suppose??
They are loveley
In Milan, we can win these chairs in a market!
After seeing this post I actually had a dream about these chairs last night.
These would look wonderful in a studio or artists' work area. I am loving these, thanks for sharing!
