Conclusion of the mushroom epic
For those on the edge of your seats following the progress of our mushrooms, here's the final installment. Last weekend they turned into four of these pizzas, with brie, tomatoes, green onion, and garlic butter drizzled over them. Yum. I used this recipe (scroll down to Shiitake and Brie Pizzas), which is from another mushroom log retailer. I think it took about 7-10 days from start to finish to grow these. Now our log is resting before its next crop.
(Side note: I found this set of dinner plates and little matching salad plates under an inch of dust in a second-hand store down the street. They were stacked on the floor. I'm so glad I bothered to bend over and swipe a finger along the edge. I like this pattern.)

Looks really yummy!
I love the plates you got, too.
I didn't know that you could eat those mushroom till just now! Looks yummy!
Oh wow. My mom had that same set. I've had many dinners on those plates. :)
totally impressed!!!
:)
Oh, that looks so yummy. I'm taking a lunch break now. See ya! Have a great long weekend.
Well, I'm sorry to say that I'm not big on mushrooms, but that plate set is a glorious find! I loved it right away and was thinking you might have spent a small fortune on them!
Also wanted to thank you for all the inspiration! Glad your Etsy shop is doing well, too.
I *love* the plates. Good find! Your mshroom log saga was really interesting--I've never thought to harvest my own shrooms before...
Mushroom pizzas on cool plates... what else could you want? I'm quite confident that I wouldn't have had enough willpower to resist eating the pizza long enough to take the picture.
Mmm...That pizza looks delish!! It was really interesting to read about the Mushrooms. I didn't even know you could grow your own! Thanks for sharing!
Jess, I like the plates and pizza a great deal, but the title of the post reminds me of a Japanese cartoon Eric S. owned in Comstock... :]

Ok, the recipe looks great but I'm gawking at those plates. That same exact pattern graced mom's dinner table from my first memories as a toddler in the early 70's until I left college in the late 80's. She had matching flatware, too.
I just stumbled across this post when looking for some plates and/or dishes that you painted. There was a reference in the comments on a more recent Starbucks Constantine post. I'm going to have to send a link to my mom. She'll love it.
Thanks!
Ha ha. Hi, Pam's mom.
