It's more - 'Until Gd.' So, 'hasta la vista' would be 'until we see each other again.' 'A dios' would be more final, almost 'until we see each other in heaven.'
In French it's 'au re-voir,' 'until we see each other again;' 'a-dieu,' 'until Gd.'

Have a Fabulous Holiday Weekend!
Have a fun long weekend! We just had ours {in Canada} last weekend :)
I really like that "Adios" font!
Have a great long weekend...
i think it's that "God be with you" was reduced to "goodbye"
same thing with adios (to god)

Hope you had a great weekend!

Hey E's,
You should edit Wikipedia, the source of my newfound (mis?)knowledge. I looked up AdiĆ³s to confirm that it had an accent over the o!
My patients often say to me (I'm a visiting nurse): vaya con dios, as in "go with God."
Have a good rest. :) I love your site, it's full of fun stuff!
