More framed fabric

Here's more fabric I framed awhile ago for our guest bedroom. It's from Japan, too, from Megumi's mom's secret stash. Does anyone know any online shops or stores in Chicago that offer unique fabric with graphic prints (that I haven't listed already at the left)? I'm always hunting...

You have such a brilliant fabric collection - I'm very jealous of it! Beautiful!

What beautiful fabric! It deserves to be in a frame.

I have never thought of framing fabric--what great idea!

Beautiful! I love that simple idea -- I don't know why I don't do this more often with fabric I love.

I would love to hear how you go about framing the fabric (do you mount it on foamcore or just stick it in the frame? How do you avoid wrinkles?). I have some I would like to try this with. I have purchased from superbuzzy.com. They have Japanese prints.
thanks!

I iron it well, and then just masking-tape it to either a thin piece of cardboard or to the back of the mat. I tape one side, then stretch it tight and tape the opposite side. Then do the two remaining the same way. I've used painter's tape before, too. There's probably a more professional way, but as long as it looks fine from the front, I don't care!

This is way late but Vogue Fabric in Evanston and Quiltology in Chicago (2625 N Halsted Street) are fun places to look for fabric.

You're in Chicago!? I thought all the cool bloggers were from the Pacific NW. Hooray Chicago crafters!
I haven't checked it out yet, have you gone to Quiltology?

Nope, never been there, not being a quilter. It's on my list of places to check out...
