A website full of free amigurumi patterns
Continuing the Japanese theme of the last few days, here's another dose of cuteness: AmigurumiPatterns.net. If you like to crochet objects with faces, you'll like this new website. It's a growing museum of free amigurumi patterns from around the web. There's a shop with a few patterns for sale, too, and all the money goes to the pattern creators. I don't know the first thing about knitting or crocheting, but apparently it's possible to decipher these mysterious codes and use them to produce bunnies with mustaches and mushrooms with eyes. Amazing.

SO CUTE!! Sadly, I don't crochet, either. But I know someone who does!

lol, mysterious codes. :o) I crochet but I didn't know about this website, so thank you! I will gladly make you an amigurumi critter of your choice to keep you company while you blog!

that's great, thanks:)
Thanks for filling my 'adorable' quotient for the day. You and this blog really brighten my day. How sad that only people on Facebook have access to the free patterns.
But here's a hint. Since they're all posted elsewhere on the internet and compiled on this site, you can google the pattern name for ones you like and find the original content on the owner's website. You can bypass Facebook with a little searching.
Oh wow, they are super cute, love Posie
This is so cute! I love it!

You should probably be happy you don't know how to crochet. I started and have become a total addict.
Then I read Erma Bombeck's "At Wit's End" and laughed hysterically when she picked up knitting to relax and couldn't stop until her husband held an intervention.
If it was addictive in the 1950's before amigurumi, you can only imagine what it does to your brain having all of these free patterns at your internet finger tips :)
Thanks for sharing this awesome resource. Then again, it may only cause me more trouble...
Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in CBH Digital Scrapbooking Freebies, under the Page 2 post on Feb. 11, 2012. Thanks again.
I adore these super cute amigurumi creatures & thingies. It's an education too. I'm still a crochet newbie and so far all I can do is squares but I've folded a square in half and put a long handle on it to make a cell phone carrier you can wear around your neck for my gran. I sewed a heart on it and embroided 'We love you' on it. It's a Tracfone SVC for seniors with bigger keys and letters on the screen and at least we feel that gran can phone us even if she falls if she's carrying her phone round her neck.
Has anyone heard of a little cell phone carrier bag crochet pattern? or where I can find one.
I have been cranking out adorable amigurumi for about a year now and selling it at Farmer's Markets. Thanks so much for the website! I cannot wait to check it out! I think I am in love with those pencils!
I just fell over in my chair. TOO MUCH CUTE!! Thanks for the link to the site. I've been wanting to get back into some senseless ami making lately :).
Wow! Thanks for this :)
i will show it to my sister! she knows to crochet! i am sure she will like it!
so cute! thanks for sharing!
Bought an ami book for my step-daughters (middle school/college) this christmas, and they loved it! Looked at every illustration numerous times.
Making the ami stalled at the first step, couldn't get past the circle turning into a sphere. But, I'm sure it can be done! So adorable.
Great findings! Love it!!
SO Cute! I Love amigurumi! Everything in so adorable I don't know where to start!
hi!
I love your job, is so perfect :)
Please, take a look on my page

So absolutely disappointing and misleading. A website full of free patterns? Where? Every page I looked at was filled with premium patterns that needed to be purchased.
Dragonswing, it looks like the site has added way more "premium" patterns since the time I wrote this post a year ago. Sorry for the disappointment. Those used to be in a separate section, if I remember correctly, instead of mixed in with the freebies. And I see you have to "like" a pattern to download it for free which is also new.
There are still some cute freebies, though, so I hope you can find something!
