Meet my friend Xyron
I didn't have any self-adhesive label paper in the house when I was printing gift tags, so I pulled out my Xyron machine. I first used one of these at a design firm to mount prints onto presentation boards, but it's so useful I decided I needed one for home, too. It's light years better than glue, little pieces of double-stick tape, or spray mount that takes two days to wear off of your fingers.
Place a sheet of paper on the tray and turn the crank to run it through the machine. As it feeds through the Xyron device, the paper is sandwiched between a clear plastic top sheet and an acid-free adhesive layer with a paper backing. 
Peel off the top sheet and cut your print into stickers if you like. Then just peel the paper backing off each sticker to use them.
This machine will also laminate paper and make magnets with a laminate finish. The current model looks slightly different than my older one; you can find it here, at the major craft stores, or at Dick Blick and Amazon—cheaper!

I really want a Xyron! These came out great!
I love my xyron too, but when I start doing large quantity projects those sticker refills add up FAST. Have you found any lower cost alternatives without having to resort to the dreaded spray-glue? I like Tombow roller adhesive but it's hard to get the nice all-over application of the xyron.
*weep* I've wanted one of these for ages now but where does one find the money (*looks to sky and shakes fist - why, oh why???*)
Hmmm. I HATE trying to print onto self-adhesive sheets, maybe a xyron would be better! Thanks for the idea!

I bought my xyron from dick blick for dirt cheap. The school version is the same as the regular one but half the price! We homeschool and use it for everything!
Christina, good tip! Holly, no kidding. It's so not cheap, so I use it sparingly. But I haven't found a better alternative—it works great.

I only have the little Xyron "X" machine... it's handy!
I only have the baby version and EVERY time I use it I'm amazed. It's like magic!
To save a some $ on the refills, I use a Michael's 40% or 50% off coupons. I "think" they have the coupons on their website now, but I get my from their Sunday paper ad.
Truly indeed Xyron is really helpful and very cute. I have one too but its just the 1-in size. but still its very cute...

Xyrons are the BEST!!! We have the 24" at work. I call it the "magic sticker maker." Thank God I don't have to pay for the refills...
I love my Xryon machine too! I bought it at Michaels with a 50% off coupon so it really wasn't too bad. I also buy the refills with the Michaels coupons and they come out to be about $15 or so. Not bad considering it's the best invention ever!
Don't you just love it! I've had mine for at least 10-12 years now. I agree that the sticker refills can be really expensive...but it's fun for a lot of other things besides big things.
