Header makeover
Good morning, all. Yesterday I freshened up the blog with a new header. The old one felt too heavy, so I put this blog on a diet. I plan to do some other trimming this week as well, so pardon any oddities you might notice while I'm ignorantly tinkering.

Well, one oddity that I don't know how to fix is that the words in the nav bar at the top are centered vertically in Safari and Firefox, but not in Explorer. In Explorer they sit too close to the baseline. For that reason, I think you all should abandon Explorer and use Firefox instead of me figuring out how to fix it. Okey dokey? Great. Thanks.

It is on a diet! So slim!
I hate to be the one of two people commenting to the contrary... but I like the old one. The new one is cute and all, don't get me wrong. It's just not what I associate with How About Orange. Maybe it's the aesthetics, maybe it's just change in general. We all hated "Ba-da-bop-ba-ba... I'm lovin' it" when McDonald's changed their theme. But can any of us name what it was before? (Seriously, can any of us name what it was before? It's been killing me that I can't think of it!)
So, I look forward to getting used to the new as your yummy french fries and filet-o-fish bring me back for more. (That's a messed up metaphor, but meh.)

rilojane, I hear ya! Thanks for your comment. I will try to provide you with enough filet-o-fish to keep you enticed. Any kind of change is unsettling, I know! The familiar is nice, no matter what it looks like. Oh, and I also HATE HATE HATE that McDonald's jingle but can't remember what the campaign was before.

Hi Jess, I have been reading your blog for some time now (and loving it!). I was wondering whether you would be able to provide some inspiration...I have a function to go to this Saturday night (it's a trivia night fundraiser for my daughter's kindergarten). Each table at the function has been allocated a colour, and we need to decorate our table using that colour. I've just found out that our table's colour is ORANGE and of course I thought of you straight away ;-) Do you have any ideas for orange-themed table centrepieces or decorations?

It seems a tiny bit precious to me. I'm sure I'll get used to it. I liked aspects of the old one, but the new one has a nice fresh vibe and lighter is better. I tend to prefer clean over cute. Enjoy the tinkering, your content always rocks!

must say i miss the old one :( it was bold and had a strong design. it doesn't seem balanced to me...graphics too small? too little orange? however, I LOVE THE CONTENT, so i won't quibble, even if you were to put a big brown mud puddle as a header lol
