Another freezer paper stencil project

Here's another freezer paper stenciling example, printed a couple weeks ago when I was trying out the technique. I had grand aspirations to get the fabric sewed into a zippered bag to use as a sample at the Craft Social stenciling table. But I ran out of time, of course. I finished it this weekend, only a week late.

Better late than never... it's adorable!!

And you should ALWAYS ONLY put red things in it!

I might put some brown things, too.

Grandma G said...

No. Just red.

Your stencil projects are the best! This makes a lovely stocking stuffer project too for those last minute holiday gifts.

It looks groovy. I need a tutorial on how to sew the bag. Got something to pass along?

I've got to say, one of my favorite things about your blog is the dialogue between you and your mom (?). :) Super adorable. You are a couple of clever ladies.

She's so bossy, isn't she? Sheesh.

wow! that is really cute.

I somehow discovered your blog a few weeks ago (but now can't remember how), and I have to say you've made me lose many an hour to going back through your projects. So neat!

She said "clever", Jess... NOT bossy!

Now go do something productive instead of talking about your mother behind her (my) back.

BOSSY! Plus nothing on the internet is ever behind your back. You manage to find it all.

I don't see how you COULD put anything but red in it! Simply adorable!!

Seeing as how I am obsessed with all things red and white, I love, love, love this! I wish I could get my hands on some freezer paper. If I see one more stencilling project I might explode... (love the dialogue between you and your Mum too!)

Looks a lot like a screenprint! Most stencil techniques can be a bit messy, but this looks just fantastic!

Adorable!

What i want to know is if you and your Mom are in the same room typing away at each other? ;) My hubby and I do that! It's silly but fun.

Grandma G said...

Ahhh.... don't I wish, Becky! Alas, we're 400+ miles apart. :(

I was inspired by your tote bag post and stenciled a t-shirt with the freezer paper technique. Just wanted to let you know that it turned out really well! I'm a designer and a perfectionist so I'll admit that the paint bled just a bit in places, but it probably was because I was too heavy handed with it (white paint on a dark fabric). Yours look fantastic! Thanks again! - Wendy

LOVE this! I've been freezer paper stenciling a lot of onesies for my baby to wear when she's born, and little mushrooms would be so cute. Thanks for the cool idea!

Kate, I don't know where Jess disappeared to, but I'll answer this for her. No, I (her mom) did not make it. Jess sewed it herself! :)
