Orange watermelons and how to carve them
Some inspiring watermelon carving went on at the Craft Social. And then I find out that my mum is growing New Queen watermelons, which have orange flesh. Get out! Where can I buy one of these orange guys in Chicago? And then, what can I do to him? Here's a list of carving ideas with instructions for anybody who wants to do some surgery.

I guess you'll just have to make another trip home and get one of mine. I in fact ate some of it just a couple hours ago. Very good, even though could've been a tad riper. And VERY JUICY!
They're clever and pretty.
I have trouble just cutting one up :)
Joan
I'm with Joan. I'd like to have someone artistically cut one for me. :)
Just hopping through blogland and landed on your lovely blog. i'm totally going to try that recycled magazine basket! Anyway, just thought I'd say hi!
You should check out Baker Creek Seed Company (www.rareseeds.com)--they have all kinds of crazy watermelons and other cool things in more colors than you ever knew those fruits or vegetables came in.

Orange watermelons...Only suits you! :-)
Great carvings! I've carved watermelon baskets, buy these beat that. I discovered Dulcinea watermelons this season, yummy.
One of the fruits I crave (I'm not so much a carver...) most often in my favouritest colour! Yay! It makes me happy in the same way that white cherries and purple cauliflower does. :-)
WOW!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm so in love with your blog. I've added it to my favorites list, if you'd like to reciprocate, please feel free.
