Mini jello watermelon slices
Happy Independence Day weekend, people of the United States. I leave you with this idea for petite watermelons made from jello and limes, by Chocolate on My Cranium. You can make some for your picnic tomorrow. Have a good weekend!

So Cute!
It reminds me of my father used to ask me "Is it okay not to buy a birthday cake, instead cut the watermelon half and put candles for your birthday?" He knew I wanted a whole cake and enjoyed making me anxious.
That's so mean! Hee hee!
awww to cute!!!!
I'm going to try and make these for sure, even though Canada day was a couple dasy age ;)
Are YOU going to make some? If you make Mojitos first, you'd be all set. ;-)
Happy 4th!
Mum

Thank you, thank you! Always eager to help. ;-)
So I guess I know what you'll be doing tonight, huh? Have fun!
adorable. too bad i'm a vegetarian and hence can't eat jello.
I love it! I'm going to make those!
This such a fun idea!! Thanks for sharing!!
holy cow that's wild!!!
That is adorable and I may have to do it!
they look too cute to be eaten:)
i'll definitely will try this!
Super cute idea. I'll have to save it for next year. I don't have any limes on hand and am not going out in this rain (great timing huh).
Oh, wow. What a pleasant surprise to see I'd been linked by you! Thanks so much. My girls have become experts at making these.
No, thank YOU for posting the great photo and passing on the idea to others!
WHAT AN ADORABLE IDEA!
I made some of these yesterday for a group picnic. It was a lot of work removing the fruit from the limes. Anyone have an easy way to do this? I turn the limes inside out and it came out fairly easily but turning them inside out was hard.
And i just left them in halves because I was afriad of ruining them. But I froze them so they would be a nice treat to cool down after being outside in the terrible Houston heat. Everyone loved them! You could make fun little jello shots this way...but mine were purely cherry jell, no "extras" added.
What a cute idea!
Awww, they're so cute! I love watermelon, have just devoured a big chunk of the "real" stuff right now - bet these are delish too!
This is an adorable idea, but it looks a bit painstaking! Ahh,,,I still may have to try it.
can it satisfy my thirst? LOL
Is it bad that I immediately thought "Oh those would make awesome jello shots!!!"
Oh YEAH! These are so cute! Thanks!
cute.
that is way cute. looks intense to make.
I made these for my kids tonight, but was in a rush, so they weren't set really well.
When I told them that we were having watermelon for dessert, they whined and whined. "That's not dessert mom!"
Then my son proceeded to pick out all the chocolate chips, while my daughter smeared red berry all over her face. A hit!
It is tough to get the lime out, but I scored with a pointy knife around the edges, and then cut some lines both ways through the inside.
I really love this idea! SOOOOO CUTE! :)
These would be so fun as jello shots!!!! Can't wait to make them :)
This is genius! Thanks for the link.
That is such a great idea and i had them for st.patrick's day at my friend's house....the problem is.. i need someone to teach me how to load the watermelon with jello inside?
