DIY roman shades
I'm pondering Roman shades lately, after seeing a couple DIY tutorials on the world wide interweb. Maybe our orange room could benefit. (This shade in there is flimsy. And any excuse to use fabric makes me happy.) Check out a project by Jennifer Hagler based on an inexpensively purchased Roman shade, or try this project made from an old set of mini blinds at Little Green Notebook.

I have terrible mini-blinds in the bathroom and bare windows in the dining room. These DIY blinds are the perfect low-cost fix - excited to give it a try!

Wanted to let you know that I love my orange bird print Target chair. LOVE. It smells like bandaids and my elderly cat snoozes on it almost every day, so she, too, smells like bandaids, but the chair is divine.

You simply must make some. They're really not difficult and would show your gorgeous designs off to their best!
It's easier to make blinds with a geometric pattern rather than plain or random I find, so yours should be a breeze - especially with your talent!!
You can really go to town on the beads for the cord too! ;-)

I have to second Susan's recommendation for the Jen Duncan tutorial...the instructions are so simple and easy, and I plan to make a set for my new kitchen.

I took a community ed class a few years ago to make roman blinds for our 2nd bedroom. If I hadn't made insulated, I think I could have figured it out myself, but it was fun, and they turned out great. It was a fun way to spend a few hours with a friend!
