Orange Kleenex box box
Last week was our anniversary, so Alex and I took Thursday and Friday off to celebrate and enjoy each other's company. (An aside: Chicagoans, you must eat at M. Henry and Geja's Cafe if you haven't yet.) We went to a couple thrift stores where I found it necessary to buy this odd tissue box, uh, box. I painted it orange, of course, to match our other wooden orange desk accessories. The ugly Kleenex box that was sitting there is now hidden inside this box of orangey goodness. Now I can work so much better at my desk. Here it is before the paint job:
Today I'm off to Houston for the Quilt Market trade show, but you'll never know I'm gone since I've got a blog post already scheduled for tomorrow. I'll tell you all about the show next week.

What a nice tissue box box. (I just wanted to say "box box".)
I'll know you're gone. I'll miss you! Okay, so I miss you all the time, anyway.
Have a wonderful time!!
Love,
Mum
I don't like the way this new comment thing works. Did you do that?!
Uh, yeah, thanks for giving me so much credit. Ha. This new Blogger thing started yesterday, as far as I can tell.
It's genius... I have tissue box box envy.
That's understandable. Everyone should have a tissue box box.
Have fun, and hurry back to share details. So excited/jealous. But I have no business at the Quilt Market, so....
Ooh! I don't like the new comment set up either.
very nice! i heart orange so much. i'd blow my nose a lot more if i had kleenx within an orange box.
Love the term "orangey goodness"- fits your site perfectly! Always enjoy your info-thanks!
That's co cool!
I was just adding tissues to the grocery cart today - welcome back cold season - and I was thinking, "These are kind of ugly."
You can make anything gorgeous and stylish!
I love finding old boxes of any kind and revamping them for use. Great find for you hun!
I am morally opposed to a naked kleenex box. I have them tucked neatly away under some great Anthropogie bargains! (any excuse to buy sale items at Anthro...)
The M.Henry website makes me drool. I saw a delectable picture of french toast with fruit and almonds. So gooooood!
I'm glad you had a good anniversary.

M. Henry is delectable. Everyone MUST eat there. Even if you don't live in Chicago.
Happy anniversary, Jess and Jess's sweetheart! Way to go! I dig the "enjoy each other's company" part of your post. Happy, happy!
I imagine that orange tissue box would look even cuter with one of your simple designs on it. :)
Welcome to Houston! You are here at the best time! THe weather is nice and no humidity! As much as I hate the weather, I do love my city!
Hope you have a great time in Houston, spreading Texas with Orangey Goodness!
I wish that Hobby Lobby sold something like this. I could make those for friends for Christmas. What a great find!!
