Things to make with ribbon
In an effort to make a "ribbon believer" out of me, Caroline sent me these cuties that she just whipped up. I must admit she's a pretty persuasive ribbon evangelist... if you want to make key fobs like these, she has a tutorial here.
And a tutorial for embellishing towels right here. (Get dachshund ribbon here, piggies here, and campers here.)

And are you a believer now? ;-)
Nice work, and even nicer of her to send them to you!
Mum
Cute ideas. I just wish the designs were more "universal." I just don't know how to utilize them. Thanks for the ideas though! Can't wait for your new fabric line.
LOVE those fobs! I'll be linking to both projects in today's Daily DIY. Are you a converted ribbon believer yet?
They'd also be cute to embellish suspenders! :)
I love the key fobs! This looks like an easy enough project for a non-crafter like me.
very cute! The key fobs are great!
Well, I can tell you I'll never be a ribbon extreme fundamentalist. Probably more of an Easter and Christmas attender. :) Anonymous, I know what you mean. I'm hoping if we do more, we can produce some that are a little more grown up—maybe with just patterns or something, instead of cute objects. I've got some of those designed, too.
I think the dachshund ribbon could be used to make a nice dog collar...
Fabulous. I am going to get some of the trailer ribbon for key fobs and kitchen towels for my parents... they are uber RVers!
I agree... if it was more universal I would make some for myself.
I think the ribbon designs are wonderful, although I said it once before when they fist came out! The fobs are really cool, though. It seems like an easy craft that could make some great individualized gifts ore stocking stuffers!
Your ribbons sure are cute, though! hey remind me of the Japanese ribbons you can buy on Etsy.
I love the dachshund design (they're my favorite kind of dog, but don't tell my beagle that) and those key fobs look like a lot of fun.
Okay, the dog ribbon is adorable. But it should be PUGS!!!!!!
the towels look like a great project that i am definitely going to have to tackle soon. how fun! :)
These are adorable!
Great! I look forward to your next line of ribbon! Keep the great DIY ideas coming!
WOW!!!
I was wondering how to use your ribbons, but those ideas are wonderful!!! Next time, you should choose monkeys, though. Then I'll come up with more ideas definitely.
some people are just too talented. i want the weenie dog one! notice i'm not saying i want to make one. i'd fob it up (ha, get it...) in no time.
These are so cute - you could even "convert" me in no time!
My machine spits at me when I try to sew heavy webbing like that used in the key fobs, but I think I may be inspired to try again.
I have a friend who wants to make those towels with the campers on them for her camper, hehe!
Love the key ring holders. Might have to start loving ribbon for that reason alone. Love your designs!
I felt the same way about ribbon ... nice looking I guess, but what do you do with it? I ordered some of those key fobs and ribbon the other day and I already have people asking me to make them/sell them.
I absolutely adore the key fobs!! They are awesome!!
I love the doggies, but I'm a cat person mostly. 'Raindrops on roses and ribbons with kittens...';-)
I think the ribbons are delightful, but alas, I'm pretty much of the "what do you do with ribbon" school. But, Jess, if your patterned ribbon comes true, I'd be all over that! I've used ribbons to hide the unfinished edges of a painted canvas, to hang from one end of the banister to the other and use it to clip Christmas cards to, as a headband and to tie stacks of baby clothes together by size (somehow, using pretty ribbon makes sorting an endless pile of onesies more tolerable). The patterned ones would be perfect for all these uses, whereas the ones with decorative objects may not necessarily work all that well.
(Okay, I guess I'm not of the "what do you do with ribbon" school so much as I'm of the "what do you do with non-solid-colored ribbon" school.)
I'm thinking these would look cute as jcrew style belts. Follow the tutorial for the key fobs except make the length long enough to fit around your waist?
That ribbon is outsanding! I'm especially partial to the trailers.
Where did you get that cute trailer ribbon? Is that photo yours?
Yes ma'am. See here for more info about it.
everytime i see that doxie ribbon i get the biggest smile! i have a little doxie of my own and now i just may have to get the ribbon! those are darling projects!
I love your new ribbons and I agree with lelah, it reminds me of some of the japanese ribbons you see on import sights. I just added some of the dachsunds ribbon to a pair of shorts for my preschooler.
oh wowee! thanks a ton for sharing the link!
A a mom of three Dachshunds this ribbon will get a good workout from me... especially when the local rescue group has their fundraisers twice a year ... I see dog leashes, dogs collars, tote bags, key fobs, checkbook covers and other stuff as my contrbution to the silent auction table at their next fundraiser. The dogs thank you and so do I!
I've recently become interested in designing for fabrics and textiles.
It's nice to see quality design in things such as ribbons!
So cute! Thanks for photos!
Key fobs are a great end of school year gift for kids to give and they are a perfect project to whip up for School fete stalls. Thanks for sharing.
