Iron-on vinyl coasters, part 2

I bought this lemon paper ages ago because it matches our crazy fake lemon branches (see picture here). I guess I should say "faux" instead of "fake" to make stuff sound fancier. Anyhow, I bought it and then I couldn't think of anything to do with it until now: clearly the answer is more vinyl. I ironed it onto the paper, which worked great. (Except for the piece I ironed too long and the paper turned brown. Oops.) After vinylizing the paper, I stuck self-adhesive cork on the back and cut out squares.

I found the vinyl at Joanne's but I don't have any paper right now that I really like. I'm going shopping for some later this week. Great ideas - as always!

Awesome! Where'd the self-adhesive cork come from?

Now all you need is a set of placemats made the same way to go with!

Hey! I saw your a picture of your booth at the Market! Chickpea Sewing Studio has some pictures up on her blog and your booth looked great!

v8_grrl, I know. I'm coaster-obsessed.

kami, I got the cork at Home Depot. Comes on a roll in the contact paper section and you use it for lining drawers normally, I think. It's kind of curly, so I've had to flatten it under some books.

erin, I'll have to go check that out! Caroline Devoy put together the booth, and I've only seen a picture of it on her blog. I'd love to see more photos! Thanks!

Rolled up cork can be flattened by sprinkling some water on it and then iron it with some protective layer on the top. It works

Oh my gosh! What a great idea. I am going to have to make some of these coasters since my cat is always hiding the ones I have out now.
