Happy new year

We had a great time with my family for Christmas. It's a 9-hour drive to the farm in Minnesota where the view looks like this in every direction (minus the tree, generally). We stopped at the Spam Museum in Austin, MN on the way. It made me hungry for a spamburger. You should go if you're ever in that neck of the woods. Or plains.

Hope you all had a nice break. Best wishes for a blessed and happy 2008!

Oh, c'mon... the view's not THAT bad! After all, it's not Nebraska! ;-)

I LIKE my view! And the Marshmallow Icicles are so pretty!

Love and miss you,
Mum

I didn't know our g'parents (the knutson side) lived so close together...I assume that you didn't drive too far to get to the Spam museum. Happy New Year!

My parents are another 3 hours west of the Spam Museum. It was a stop on the way. Still, relatively speaking, that's close!

I thought you were talking about the 'plain'-ness of it... as in nothing to see (but snow right now) on the plains. We do have a few trees around here, and lots of 'em are in better shape than that one. :-)

I agree, it's a lovely scene.

Ah, delicious SPAM! I had the opportunity to have a SPAMburger at the dedication of the WWII Memorial in lovely and talented downtown St. Paul last year.

What? Where else did you THINK I would have one?

Incidentally, the veterans there devoured them. Go figure.

Beautiful ... I live closer to the Mississipi and we have more hills but still very lovely. Wish I lived closer to Chicago sometimes. Happy New Year. I enjoy your website but don't comment often.

Spam is awesome. I'm from Hawaii so I've eaten it all my life. Yay for the Spam Museum!

There is something wonderful about Minnesota in the winter.

(I just got back from Duluth.) :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year. Hope 2008 turns out better than you imagined. Glad you had a nice break with your husband, family and what appears to be a special mum.

Minnesota - land of infinite variety! Just thought I'd let you know that all the snow got rearranged this morning, so the scenery looks different now. 40 MPH winds on the plains can do a LOT of rearranging!

Mum hates wind. And scooping.
