New kitchen curtains
This weekend I sewed some curtains for our miniscule kitchen. This brown dotted fabric comes from an Ikea quilt cover that I chopped up.
These curtains are actually my second attempt. Attempt No. 1 was made out of a happy flowery print that seemed like a good idea when it was still on the bolt. Once it was sewed into curtains, however, it became a wee bit overpowering. The final straw came when Alex sheepishly admitted a couple weeks ago, "Well, um, I didn't want to say anything, but I really don't like those at all. Too FLOWERY." He'll let me do anything I want, short of flowery. So now, I guess the valance can be... a table runner?

If you've got any more flowery, I think they'd made great napkins... (not with the runner at the same time!)
absolutely fab. simply wonderful fabrics. nice choices.
I will feel dizzy at the table I guess. //escape
Oh that's a shame! I really like the flowery pattern, but I don't think my husband would let me get away with it either. I like the Attempt No. 2 also.
I have that duvet on my bed. By the way, I stumbled across your blog the other day and I love it! You have much the same taste as me. I have already found some ideas for projects. Thanks!
You've really inspired me. My kitchen needs a new set of curtains. I even have orange countertops.
Not to be a complete guy here, but I'm going to have to support Alex on this; those really are too flowery, Jess.
I know, I know! I admit it was a mistake. :)
