Part one: Food
Back from the tea party! I think it's our 6th annual, put together by Megan, Mandi and me. Every year we agonize over the invites, since Megan's apt. only holds so many. And we each know so many wonderful people. We're each allotted a handful of invitations, and we desperately hope we don't offend anyone we've left out. If we have, and you somehow happen to be reading this, we are SO VERY SORRY and hope you still like us. Anyway, here are pix of some of the food (two more card tables are in the other room.) I realize I took this before the scones appeared, so pretend you see maple scones in the empty bowl in the middle of the table. And I have to say, the chai-infused chocolate glaze on Megan's triple chocolate fudge cake was to die for.

The round white things with paprika on top (3rd photo) are cucumber sandwiches. Already had an email question. :)
MBF, you live in Minnesota. I didn't think you'd come, silly.
Hi Jess. I've never posted a comment on your blog (sorry) until today. and I'm going to break the rules a bit and "comment" on a few of your blogs... first, I love your new banner thing but would love to see your beautiful self sitting in that fun orange chair. what do you think? and your tea party looks so lovely and delicious. I know that I'm part of the culprit team that is the cause of your horrible song-in-the head issue. sorry again. (I've rid myself of that horrible beast). and I think you're the best! I love you. Kristin
Ooooooh!
Why do we live so far away now?
I need to think about moving to the US seriously, just because I want to attend all the parties you guys enjoy...
Hello, Kristin! I forgive you for the song. :) Thanks for the chair suggestion. Never thought of that! Hmmm, I feel slightly shy about putting myself in it. I can see that it's a great idea, though. Let me see if I can get Alex to man the camera.
Megumi, if you move here, I'll invite you to EVERY party I have. Come!
Megan directed me to your blog to see a picture of the party invitations...I love them! She sent me a couple of pics, too; everything looks fabulous! You guys are amazing. Of course, I had to look at the rest of your blog (you're the 2nd person on whose blog I've posted a comment; I feel so cool), which is very impressive. This got way too long....sorry....
Dear Megan's Mom,
You're definitely cool. :)
oh Jess,, I miss the tea party!! I think I have been there for twice. I remember Megan's home! Three licence plates! And many many fancy dishware~~ I miss all the people I met there. I wish I were there.
jess, not only are you an amazing designer and etc. but now come to find out that you're a good photographer too?! what the! I'm still regretful about missing the tea party. sigh. I'm nearly tempted to try and throw my own tea party but then again, I know I just don't have the attention to detail that it takes. want to just make some scones with me?
wow! i wish i was one of your buddies so i coulda came over. the table setting is stunning!
Jamie, let's do it! It's not possible to have too many tea parties. And I'd love a scaled-down version. Scones and tea will do it for me.
Maybe next year the big V-day party will become national to include everyone who's interested. We could rent a ballroom somewhere. Think of all the dishes to wash. Yikes. I don't think so.
The cucumber sandwiches look amazing. Nice photography!
