Guys, I caved.

How ironic. After just writing about how I don't have and don't want a cell phone, I bought one. I still don't want it, but it seems necessary for business reasons. The first week it sat on my desk. Off. I didn't take it anywhere. Two people had the number. I think maybe six people have it now. Baby steps.

if you had to pick any phone that was a good one to get! how about red? :)
I know i didn't have a cel for a long time.. i'm chronically late (have been my whole life - i just say it's cause i grew up in a latin culture) So my main phone calls sound like this "i'm on my way.. promise, no really i'm in the car now. i'll be there.."

That's why i have a cel. sad. i know.
hope you enjoy your red razor..

sounds just like me. i hate having a cell phone because it makes me too accessible now. most of the time i don't pick up, and sometimes i'll watch it vibrate right off the table, because i have no intention of answering...

Oh, that country girl finally got a cell phone?! I want you to walk in the middle of Tokyo talking on the phone.

SO FUNNY. Husband is INSISTING that I get a cell phone, which I'm sure will perpetually be uncharged in the bottom of my bag. I found this phone in pink, though, and caved!

Jess, how do you think I felt when I got one of those horrid contraptions? And it doesn't even have built-in Morse code capability! Confound this so-called "Progressive" era! I loathe it. Can't even send telegrams any longer.

Fortunately, I recall how to build a telegraph, so I can recreate the first true "Internet" when the EMP apocalypse comes.

hey, the good news is that cell phones are easier to ignore than home phones.... 'on vibrate and in my purse' is my permanent excuse!

I was that way too. Now I really do use it a lot. I got it for business and for when "mom is out w/kids and we might need dad to come to the rescue" situations. There are days that I still have a love/hate relationship with my phone.

is that one of those "product red" phones. if it is, then at least you're saving the world while talking on the phone. which is not a bad way to go if you're going to have a phone.

Oh, just like mine!!!

Yes. I'm saving the world. A little bit. :) That did factor into my decision, actually.

Now I just need to learn how to use it better. I accidentally programmed it so that my friend Jenny's picture came up on every call. Imagine my surprise when I said "Hi Jenny!" to a gruff man calling the wrong number. I think this is fixed now.
