Purple painting

I'm giving this one to some people I like. I think it will look right at home in their house. But yikes! Does anyone else get scared when giving your art as gifts? What if they hate it, and keep it in a closet, only to whisk it out and guiltily hang it up just before I come over every time? Or what if they get sick of it on their wall, but feel obligated to keep it forever? I'll make sure to tell them to dispose of it whenever they don't want it anymore.

AH! Could you make a color copy and send it to ME? I'm only half-kidding--I've been looking for more purple accents for my shades-of-purple-tan-and-orange bedroom and that would be AWESOME! Plus, original art, even more awesome!

Don't remember where I surfed in from, but I really love your design sense. And the lesson here: no matter how your friends react to your gift, there's at least one person in the world who drooled over it. ;)

This painting needs review and reflection many many times to understand. My impression always changes every time during the stay with you, and this time I say I love it more than ever. I like the way you painted the background(the largest part with circles, I mean, 2nd wine red part from the top... sorry, hard to explain by words...)

So this is my current feedback;
The problem is not the painting itself, but where to put it. This is so special and outstanding, so you need to pick the right place, whether it fits to the room, wall paper, or other items around it.

People have to love your painting and your painting can't be perfect, otherwise, what's its difference from a print? But I have to confess that I don't like the shape of the container. Or..maybe I will love it after staring it for 5 mins.

Thanks for the kind compliments, guys. That makes me feel a lot better, and relieved! I've always wished I could develop a thicker skin so I wouldn't care what critics think. Um, that process is not moving along very well. I still care, A LOT! :)

Jen, I know--that vase has been bugging me too! ...as Megumi knows, since she was here when I had just finished it, and we analyzed it to death!

And I would LOVE to find a good (cheap!) way to make prints from paintings on canvas, but I don't know how. Anybody?? (This painting is 30"x30.")

I like to paint, but I don't like to show anyone in fear that they might laugh and hate it....my boyfriend is the only one who has seen any of it, and he always tells me how good it is...but he's my boyfriend....he has to like it....
