A tiny, handmade gift

Look at this miniature zippered case my friend Megumi brought when she visited from Japan last weekend. Her mom sewed it for me! It's an inch and half in diameter, and practically the cutest thing ever. Eek!

If you wanted to attempt one, this tutorial looks pretty close.

    Wow! This is so cool! I was thinking about trying to find a tutorial to sew a small zippered pouch to hold a few small items, but not this small!

    Perfect for a bit of loose change on a keyring by the looks of it. or is it too small? I used to have a mini leather keyring coin purse that could fit four £1 coins perfectly and I could do with something similar for bus fare now.. I might have to make one of these!

    If you can find the magazine Cotton Time anywhere they normally have really cute ideas for these little purses. It is one of the best craft magazines available at the moment (although it is written in Japanese!!)
    Such a cute little purse, I wish I had a friend like yours.

    That's a really cute purse. I've lived in Japan for a while and loved all the cute stuff like that.

    I once tried to sew something similar, slightly bigger, but I'm not very good with the sewing machine yet, so it turned out rather ugly ;)

    Soooo cute! I've seen a tutorial of one that's not so well made, but the link you've provided is really really cute and I love the idea that you could hide a ring inside it - I guess it could be a seriously cute way to wrap a present - otherwise, it's not that useful lol - but that would be REALLY cool. Pinned it in case I feel like... gifting myself a ring (oh ok, or someone else) ;)
