Need a 5-minute break to enjoy a little window shopping... at the fanciest department stores and fashion boutiques in the world? WindowsWear is a gallery of 1,500 windows from over 350 stores in New York, Paris, Milan, and London. They're magical, gorgeous, and strange.
See the best of 2012 right here.
Photos one and two are from Lanvin, Paris. The following are windows at Dior, Paris; Ralph Lauren, London; and Bergdorf Goodman, New York.

Window dressing really doesn't showcase the clothes as much but really is an art form of expression that represents the line. Love it.
ReplyDeleteoh, dream job!
ReplyDeleteI know--it would be so interesting to talk to the designers who do this!
ReplyDeleteFor example, where can a person buy a stuffed tiger?
ReplyDeleteStrange is right! I wonder what the world's worst look like?!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I guess I'm just too old fashioned or not artistic enough to enjoy them. ;)
Mum
That's okay. I still love you.
ReplyDeleteWhew! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first one is down right creepy. But I like the hot pink
ReplyDeleteWhoa - some of these are really cool!! And some of them are kind of creepy, haha.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm a bit with Grandma G here. What's with the pink-attack?! But when I was little we used to go on an annual walk around central London to see the Christmas lights and the shop windows - Hamley's and Fortnum & Mason were always special. A cousin took her 3-yr-old on a similar trip just over a year ago and apparently the Selfridge's windows featured Santa but were... umm... not family-friendly.
ReplyDeleteThe whole point is to make you stop and look, so I get that some of the windows are "radical".
ReplyDeleteLots of fun tho, and good inspiration!
What would Rhoda think? I am intrigued by the first one! I enjoy assemblage art it's thought provoking. Thank you for sharing, Kat
ReplyDeleteLove this post Jessica. I worked in retail display all over the country for many years and know what goes into each and every one of these windows. I left my display job a few years ago to blog full time and do miss the creativity and resourcefulness that the job entailed. Thanks for sharing these photos.XO
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, as a visual merchandising student, i'm so glad you shared this!!
