I just got samples of the latest ribbon I designed for J Caroline Designs. She commissioned me to do tennis and golf ribbon. So I made her houses instead. Ha! Take that, Caroline.
I did also make the requested sports ribbon. But really? Do people wrap the handles of their tennis racquets with this stuff? How could it possibly be used? I'll keep my eye out for it at Wimbledon. Or maybe Tiger Woods could trim his shirts with the golf version, and the press would be so bewildered that they'd finally start writing articles about him on a new topic.
And what to do with houses... maybe wrap a cute housewarming present with it. Yes.
To purchase some, you could either buy it by the yard here at Fat Quarter Shop, or get 25-yard rolls (a super deal) for reselling or for trimming lots of shirts for Tiger right here at J Caroline Creative. More designs coming soon!
Adorable!!!!! I love ribbon.
ReplyDeleteI certainly prefer the houses as well, but I could definitely see some tennis-playing girls with those racket ribbons tied around their ponytails! All of them would be great for wrapping gifts as well.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the houses!
ReplyDeleteI'm picturing cute headbands for the preppy golfer/tennis types - although your Tiger idea waaaay trumps mine.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the wee houses ... you have the best job!
ReplyDeleteI just love these adorable ribbons. Brilliant designs.
ReplyDeleteThe golf themed ones would be a great embellishment on cards for Father's Day, birthdays or retirement.
love + want these!
ReplyDeletefabulous work :)
Oh man, I hadn't even thought to send some to Tiger. And his women. That would be a lot of ribbon.
ReplyDeleteThe houses are great! I want to use the brown for a housewarming invitation... or a moving announcement... except for I'm not moving or having a housewarming... hm...
ReplyDeletethese ribbon designs are so cute! the golf or tennis ones might be perfect for mother's or father's day gifts or summer birthdays.
ReplyDeleteI love the tennis ribbon... I played in college and think high school and college players alike would love them in their ponies!! Where was this 2000-2004?!
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon with the houses and trees would be adorable on a little girl's dress. Of course I can't sew to save my life, but I can dream.....
ReplyDeleteJessica, I'm a huge fan of your fabric designs, but those houses may be my favoritest thing EVER.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't suggest Tiger trim his shorts with them...
ReplyDeleteMy verification word is mumstr. I think I'll make that my new name.
Mumstr
these are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally against popped collars by all means, but for some reason I just had an image of a little girl with a popped polo collar and the tennis ribbon appliqued underneath. With a tiny white tennis skirt? Now tell me that's not adorable.
ReplyDeleteCute! I love the houses.
ReplyDeleteI love your two house ribbons - I'm trying now to justify purchasing them... not too sure what the sports ribbons could be used for though.
ReplyDeleteSooo cute! You'd be surprised about the sports ribbon. I live in very preppy Baltimore-I can see people making belts and trimming their tennis tote.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are great!
ReplyDeleteI love the golf cart illustration.
I love ribbon and those are darling! You can NEVER have to much ribbon or fabric.
ReplyDeleteWhoops, I'm the anonymous.
ReplyDeleteWhoops, I pushed the button to soon. I'm the anonymous.
ReplyDeleteThe ribbon with the houses is so cute, I love it!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I saw these on Fat Quarter Shop yesterday and wondered if they were yours. I don't play tennis but I have a good friend that plays in tournaments all the time. I think her partner & she needs some ribbon trimmed skirts or something!
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE! I wish we could get jpeg of your "clip art" like designs. how cute would would the "houses" be on a small homewarming card >.<! btw what do you use to design? I mean can you show us a "how a ribbon is desgined" post? step 1, pencil/paper, etc.... :)
ReplyDeleteYou could use these for scrapbook pages! I love the houses!
ReplyDeleteJ. Caroline made me laugh out loud. These are SOOOO cute. I know someone who will want yards of the golf ribbon. In fact, since she is getting married on a golf course in 2 1/2 weeks, if she orders really quick she will probably use them at the wedding!
ReplyDeleteNote to Grandma G: Won't JHRME do her happy dance when she sees the golf ribbon??
The blue/red golf ribbon would be incredible for boys belts. I wish there were more boy options. I'm going to hang on and see if more are coming.
ReplyDeleteI love the ribbon! So cute and colorful!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Cindy... those ribbons will definitely bring out the happy dance!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute girl - I definitely want to find someone to make a housewarming gift for, just so I can use that ribbon!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO funny because I was literally wandering through Joann an hour ago browsing ribbon and thinking to myself "I wonder when Jessica Jones will design some more ribbon?" Ha! I must have been psychically tuned in to your blog or something!! I love the new designs, especially the houses!!
ReplyDelete~Amy :)
I love the houses. And maybe the high school tennis team could tie the racket ribbon around their pony tails!
ReplyDeleteum.................... CUTE!!!! totally loving that ribbon! yes, houses first, but how cute they ALL are!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding, what could we (tennis women) do with those ribbons?! We can decorate our tables and linens, tie up captains gifts, put some in a glass jar for show, tie things on our tennis bags (like keys) decorate water bottle covers, make decorative gift towels, wristbands, ball holders..I could go on and on. Obviously, I plan on buying lots (and I love the houses too!)I'm betting tennis shops would buy the stock out!
ReplyDeleteThose ribbons are so adorable! Love them!!
ReplyDeleteMy MIL would love, love the tennis ribbons if I were to make a bag for her with ribbon handles.
ReplyDeleteShe is nuts for tennis. We took our moms to London and Paris a few years ago and my MIL went to both Wimbledon and Roland Gueros (sp?) where the French Open was held all by herself. This is the woman who once got lost in the loop Carson's store. Sigh.
Tennis ribbon? She's in.
Tiger tennis ribbon would have to include boobies, motels, and fists overhead. On red.
ReplyDeleteThe house ribbon is sweet. I would use it to trim a bag.
ReplyDeleteKathy
These are super cute ribbons! Fabulous work. Congrats, JEss!
ReplyDeleteI also like colorful things.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, these are adorable! A MUST have!
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful! I really love ribbons even if I have no clue what I could use them for O_O
ReplyDeleteHey! FQS person here! Thanks for mentioning us! One lady on Facebook is looking for a way to decorate her golf bag with the golf ribbon :)
ReplyDeleteHello, FQS person! Well, how about that. I'll add golf bag trim to my list of ideas for this stuff. :) Thanks for carrying these ribbons. Your shop is so cute. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous!! I love the houses and the tennis ribbons! Thanks for the link to buy them!
ReplyDeleteThese are too cute! How do you come up with these ideas? And may I just add, I would like a friend who asks me to design ribbons. That is awesome.
ReplyDelete(WV:radhos. As in "did you see her leggings? Yeah. Those were some radhos.")
I so need the golfing for my dad's 90th birthday card on the 21st. Those ribbons are the cutest!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute!! Love the little houses for sure.
ReplyDeleteUm, HELLOOOOOOO! I'll be using the golf ribbon on a bag handle. Or a key chain. It's VERY cool.
ReplyDeleteso cute!!
ReplyDeleteSo CUTE
ReplyDeleteWoah! That golf ribbon is fantastic! I would use it as trim on a pillow case, or to tie up little party favors from a TEE party, or to use it as a trim on a golf towel, or for a golf pro's baby hint hint in about ten years grandma g and live a colorful life then maybe embellishing a onsie, or a diaper bag, or some little booties. Or a little zipper pouch for golf tees. Golf cart key fobs! Fathers day/mans birthday napkin rings, napkin trim, on a BBQ apron for fathers day, a D ring belt for a female golfer. Tags for a golf teams suitcases to know they all go together. Oh man the list goes on! How fantastic!
ReplyDeletei LOVE those little houses!!
ReplyDeleteGee, ya think JHRME likes the golf ribbons? :) Can anybody tell she's marrying a golfer in exactly 2 weeks?!
ReplyDeleteTEN YEARS?! No, no, no... much too long! Cindy, we've got work to do.
Those houses are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteNothing against the tennis or golf ones (which I imagine trimming preppy little tennis outfits), but, meh, sports, not so exciting for me, even if it is really cute sports ribbon. Houses, on the other hand, I can get excited about :)
Sorry to be a bore and reiterate what all the others have said but Wow!! those ribbons are utterly adorable, I'm loving them.
ReplyDeleteJHRME, holy schmoly. Your list of things to do with golf ribbon is amazing. (And I loved the side notes to Cindy and my mom. Ha!) Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
ReplyDeleteOkay grandma G...it makes me nervous that youre now plotting with Cindy! Jess- Thanks! I've got lots more ideas where those come from! Haha Im going to order some as soon as we arrive in Colorado and start playing!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the new ribbons!
ReplyDeleteThose are so sweet! If my daughter was the type to wear a ponytail without taking it out in 2 seconds I'd be all over that. Maybe someday...
ReplyDeleteBoy, do I love that brown ribbon with the houses!
ReplyDeleteI love the houses! Love, love, love. I can see making a bag for myself if I golfed or played tennis. Maybe I should go golfing with my husband just so I can make the bag... :D lol
ReplyDeletevery very pretty pretty!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI need the golf and tennis ribbons! How do I buy?
ReplyDeleteHaileylada@yahoo.com
Golf is available retail and wholesale from Renaissance Ribbons (you can search by designer, Jessica Jones, I believe). The tennis ribbon has not been reprinted and might be out of stock. Try contacting The Needle Shop in Chicago--they may have some.
