Contrary to popular belief, I don't spend all day surfing the internet. More likely, I'm at work on brochures and logos and sell sheets and ads. The days when I don't manage to get a blog post up, it's probably because I've got a deadline. Or maybe I'm eating bonbons and watching Oprah in fuzzy bunny slippers. Who's to know.
It's the fuzzy bunny slippers that give it away. You don't seem the type!
ReplyDeleteWell, only if they were orange fuzzy bunny slippers, otherwise I don't believe you... :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh.... I've been wondering where you were! ;)
ReplyDeleteMum
Oh, do enjoy if you're wearing slippers and watching Oprah. Just know we miss you so much whaen you don't post. You're inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me, but I don't watch Oprah. I would be watching The Office reruns. :o)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I lied about Oprah. I don't watch her. Or own bunny slippers. I LOVE The Office, but I love 30 Rock even more, so can't wait until reruns start!
ReplyDelete30 Rock is one of my faves too!
ReplyDeleteDo you watch Modern Family? That show cracks me up. And I don't watch Oprah either. Or own bunny slippers.
ReplyDeleteI'm mostly interested in the bonbons. Did you say that you saved some for me?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun job :-) I think I went into the wrong field...
ReplyDeleteNo worries... I'm sure they're dark chocolate bonbons with orange filling, yum :)
ReplyDelete...so you've got a life!
ReplyDelete;)
(please, I love your blog even when you post with bunny slippers :) )
Yes, 30 Rock. I knew it. That's what's been keeping you!
ReplyDeleteI'm super jealous!
ReplyDeleteI have a marketing degree, but am working at a data entry position for the American Taekwondo Association's International Headquarters.
My dream job is to develop printed material for companies... designing is my all time favorite hobby - I really wish I had been able to find a job in the field!
Ah yes, the real world life. Thanks for the reminder! The other side is important too.
ReplyDeleteThat meeting point logo is spectacular! I have great admiration who use negative space that well. I mostly work with type and have a hard time making the space around the figures work as well as the figures themselves. Kudos!
ReplyDeletesounds like my week - hiding away at the office... not able to blog... not able to do anything BUT, work...
ReplyDeletefinally able to get my dancing shoes on!

i love that meeting type logo!
ReplyDeleteThat meeting point logo is brilliant! I always love seeing other designers' work.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing when no one's looking - though for me it's not Oprah, it appears to be reruns of Charmed. *cringe*.
i vote for the bonbons....the bunny slippers ain't bad either...a winning combo anytime....
ReplyDeletecoyI am impressed with all your designs!
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck are bon-bons anyway? I've never actually seen any.
These are great -- love your blog too. Fun seeing how other designer/art directors juggle everything (in your case, very well!)
ReplyDeleteI love the Jan Smith communications logo. :) It's so clever!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And when I wrote this post, I also wondered exactly what a bon-bon is. All I know is it's the thing you're supposed to eat when you watch daytime TV.
ReplyDeleteI envy those who can actually earn a livable wage in graphic design. I have a degree in the field but since graduating have had a few go nowhere sort of design jobs at newspaper type places and the pay I have received would mean a life of poverty. I have also been laid off twice. Fun times. Currently doing a data entry temp job. Possibly will have to go back to school so that I don't have to be poor forever.
ReplyDeleteyou designed those logos :) how cool is that
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh!! People think you eat bon bons and watch Oprah TOO!! Wow what a coincidence ;)
ReplyDeletethis is great, I love it! very fuzzy
