Here's what my desk looks like at this exact moment. I'm swimming in Pantone chips, trying to pick colors for ribbon designs,
like these. Fun, right? Which is clearly why I need
this mug from which to drink my coffee as I do so. Birthday is coming. Hint, hint, hubby.
I got that mug for Christmas...a must have!
ReplyDeleteI love that there is an orange mug with the Pantone color. I have also seen dinnerware. Kinda pricy or otherwise I would be eating dinner on it every night.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'd love to have one of those Pantone color chip binders. Oh the possibilities!
I have that EXACT mug! Orange 021 and all (my favorite pantone). It was a gift from a marketer that I work with.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the mug. Too bad they already command most of my cupboard space, or I'd snatch one up... for, uh, my husband's birthday in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteColorful Life, yeah, the set of coated and uncoated chip binders will only set you back a couple hundred bucks, so why not grab a set? :) Pricey, but since the industry runs on Pantone, graphic designers gotta have 'em.
ReplyDeleteI've got that mug in olive green :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteoh I need that mug too!!
ReplyDeleteI don't need that mug. :)
ReplyDeleteMum
i wish i had a pantone chip binder.
ReplyDeleteand a mug, but in blue.
Pantone colors are so yummy I want to eat them. But of course, I don't. I learned my lesson in pre-school with that nice smelling paste. Somebody should start making jewelry from the chips, like those scrabble tile necklaces or maybe pins or charm braclets. Good luck with your color selections.
ReplyDeleteI have an unreasonable amount of love for pantone swatch books, chips and guides. I could spend all day looking at them! Love the mug too.
ReplyDeleteI know you'll never believe me but I saw that mug at Broadway Paper in Milwaukee - just down the street from where I work. I thought about sending it to you as a thank-you for all you inspirational ideas..unfortunately they were sold out of Orange 021. I later decided it would be creepy to get a gift from someone you don't even know! I should've went with my gut instinct and ordered it..BUMMER!
ReplyDeletei like the mug - but more than that i like your ribbons! ;)
ReplyDeleteBri, I'm sooo touched by your thought anyhow! And I wouldn't have been creeped out. But now at least Alex will have one idea of a birthday present for me. That, and I want some uni-ball pens, too. I dream big.
ReplyDeleteLove the mug! Only a graphic designer can appreciate something like that : ) I'd love to see my coworkers reactions if I used that in my office. I've also seen salt & pepper shakers with Pantone colors!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! You should definitely get the mug! How fun!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pantone colors...I used to work for a athletic apparel company and sourced the fabrics and trims and helped pick colors for upcoming seasons! The color part was the most fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI know they had those Pantone mugs at Tuesday Morning stores not too long ago. I hunted them down and found the blue ones for about $5 each?, but didn't buy. The orange looks a lot happier! Anyway, if you have TMs it might be worth a look!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about playing with those Pantone swatches that is just so much fun? I'm envious ... and now, I want one of those mugs, too.
ReplyDeleteYou have super fun job!
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely pick this one http://www.velocityartanddesign.com/pantone-mug-in-rose-pink-c-1584-p-1-pr-26920.html
ReplyDelete:)
Wait! Who's producing your new ribbon designs? And is there fabric coming out too? J Caroline is closing shop, so....??? Do tell!
ReplyDeleteI can't BELIEVE NO ONE HAS GOT IT FOR YOU!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Pantone. I want to dive into a tub of Pantone-fetti.
ReplyDeleteI'll go with you.
ReplyDeleteMe, too a special mug here. ;-)
