Yesterday I showed a friend the bag from the last post, and she said, "
YOU made this? Are you feeling all right?" She's obviously aware that sewing makes me want to smash things. So get a load of this. I made another bag last night. Hell must be freezing over. This one is from the adorable, free
Buttercup Bag pattern from Made By Rae, with
Beads fabric. And I didn't even bleed on it like usual.
So cute!
ReplyDeleteyour bags look so fresh and pretty :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute Buttercup bag. Love the fabric.
ReplyDeleteI think it's adorable! I love the 2 pink buttons...
ReplyDeletexo Laura
no blood hey? Good job!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love that!
ReplyDeleteI just finished three of these for my nieces! I love this pattern!
ReplyDeleteLove it! How did you get the little button tab so nicely shaped?! Mine looked like a two year old made it! :(
ReplyDeleteMine originally came out too tall, so I cut some off and resewed it. Mine looks like an 8 -year-old made it, so I guess that's not too bad. I turned the hand cranky wheel thing to go around the corners since I didn't trust my lead foot. Maybe that helped.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the free pattern link.
Andi :-)
ok, I need help!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a bag pattern that :
is pretty big- about the size of a duffel
easy to sew
flat bottom
kinda square-ish
vintagey-feeling
If anyone knows of a bag pattern like this, please let me know!
(I posted here because at lot of awesome people come together here!)

btw that purse is SO CUTE :)
go you!
absolutely adorable!!! My niece's birthday is coming up this summer and if I can find some "cool" fabric this will be perfect. That purse looks so professional, I hope mine turns out the same! :)
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo glad you didn't bleed on it!!!!
ReplyDelete"Hand cranky wheel thing"... so THAT's what it's called! :-)
Mum
P.S. Beautiful bag!!!
LOVE it! I think I need to make myself one- thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteadorable! great job
ReplyDeleteGreat job, its so cute!!
ReplyDeletevery very very cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I just made a Buttercup Bag last week.
ReplyDeleteI love the purse you made! Would you consider making more to sell at your etsy store?
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wish my sister hadn't "borrowed" my sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteYou know, in the costume biz, bleeding on a garment is good luck!
ReplyDeleteSewing makes me want to smash things and put a hole in the wall and break the machine. I still have my sewing machine that I received as a Xmas gift in 3rd grade. Um, I think I need to upgrade and maybe that will help. I can't even figure out how to thread it!
ReplyDeleteI think you are quite good, becuase I am the worst!
Oh wow, very cute bag. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty. I love bags, I love making bags and I also love to see bags made by someone else. Thanks for the link to the pattern, will download it and make one. Will drop a line at Rae's blog :) Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I am one of your followers :))
Have a nice day with your beautiful buttercup bag!!!
It is so cute! Thanks so much for sharing and you did a great job!

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. This project is definitely being added to my list of things to do in the next week. Must have!
ReplyDeleteJess, you are a pretty good sewer for all your talk... is that the right word, "sewer", it looks like thestinky place where water goes.
ReplyDeleteLyla
I would so buy that if it was in the Etsy shop...too cute!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make this for a while now... my last sewing project went strangely well so I may have to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteYours turned out beautiful!
It gets easier to make second bag after having trouble with first one, this is from my experience :)
ReplyDeleteThat is soo cute, for someone who doesnt like to sew much, you make cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric!
What a sweet bag....
ReplyDeletemust go and make one...maybe for my Pay it Forward gift... ??

ReplyDeleteI love the new fabric and the bags are so cute!
ReplyDeletei just made this bag too! i love it. :) unfortunately, the fabric for mine isn't nearly as cute as yours. looks cute!
ReplyDeleteI just cut this pattern out of my favorite fabric!
ReplyDeleteI have been itching to make it and I am SOOOOOOOOOO thrilled to see your beautiful bag. I can't wait to sew it up for my friend's bday.
thanks for sharing
That looks great! I love the fabric you used for it.
ReplyDeleteI've made myself a couple of these bags, and they were such a satisfying project, I want to start making some to give as gifts.
For the people asking for her to make more for Etsy sales, the free pattern is licensed for personal use only, so you'll just have to find a sewer friend to make you one as a gift. :)
I love it! I want to make one.
ReplyDeleteFab! It really is all about the fabric. I've been wanting to make the Buttercub bag, but then I saw some I didn't love so much. But yours is great, so now it's back on my to-do list!
ReplyDeleteUm, buttercup, not buttercub. That makes it sound like a delicious baby bear.
ReplyDeleteJessica, You're hilarious! I feel the same way about sewing. I admire the people who can do it and are so talented, I just don't have the patience. I remember ripping out alot of seams in "Home-Econonics" class.
ReplyDeleteYour purses turned out great!
~ Vicki
Adorable bag! Sewing makes me crazy too! I am always excited after I finish something, but sewing it is a nightmare. Arg! :-)
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I made the exact same bag (different fabric) last night.
ReplyDeletei need to try different fabric or something. the one i made on my first try? too flimsy. :p
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic, I love the fabric you chose! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely darling! Please tell me you'll start selling these in your shop!
ReplyDeleteGreat bag! I couldn't sew if my life depended on it. Funny, I want to learn though!
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys! Currently the pattern is for personal use only, so I wouldn't be allowed to sell any in the shop. You'll have to bribe a friend to make you one as a present!
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing this bag in this fabric!!! I have this pattern and I've been eyeballing your new fabric. This is the one I'm considering!!! Yeah!! I love it!! I just might have to order some. : ) And then all I need is the time to put it together.
ReplyDeletelol, I just made one of these this week too! I love your fabric :-)
ReplyDeleteit looks great- I am going to attempt it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your bags so much!!!
ReplyDeletetotally cute. I'm glad you're becoming more of a sewer. it really can be fun! :)

ReplyDeleteCute, adorable, well sewn (yes, i said that)...what else? ah! nice fabric ;)
ReplyDeleteWow-- I love that fabric and the design is great! You should definitely sell these. All that money you will make might make up for the need to smash things when you sew:-)!
