I got a head

I visited this ruby-lipped lady three separate times in an antique store before her charm became irresistible and I bought her. I'm not sure what her story is— is she a fine art sculpture, or was she once a department store model for bathing caps or wigs? Beats me, but she is so lovely I had to have her. She will reside in the dining room, which is getting fancier (or by some definitions, crazier) by the minute. You'll see in a couple weeks.

P.S. If you ever wonder why there are pens in lots of my pictures, it's my attempt at indicating scale.

So that's 'the head'. Not sure what I think of her except that she could use a little more makeup. ;)

Can't wait to see how your "craziness" turns out! I have no doubt you'll make it turn out just lovely. You have a way of doing that.

More makeup?!? Horrors! No! Her white face with just lipstick is what makes her perfect.

Kinda like me, huh?

BWAHAHAHA!

Yes, that is your makeup routine for special occasions, I believe! Mine, too. I tried mascara a couple times, but it was so much work.

You're going to have so much fun dressing her up in different hats! I do that with a bust that my husband's grandmother made. We've got a cowboy hat, and a fez, and a sunbonnet. Great fun and a great conversation piece! :)

I have the absolute most fun reading your blog! Thanks for buying that head and posting it on your blog. Who does that? You do, and that's what I continue to enjoy. Always something new, honest, and fun.

Smiles,
Kelly

Ok. I have followed your blog for a long time. I like it a lot!

But the frosting on the cupcake is getting to be the mother-daughter banter. Too funny.

Love the head. I grew up in a retail family and wish I had some of the old props from "the store".

I love your "head". My Grandmother had an Asian lady head that was painted. I have it now. I think it is plaster of Paris.

OMG, I have two heads (originally used for training purposes). Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I kind of want you to paint it totally different every month.

This room makes me happy.

Oh my! I would love that head too especially because I knit a lot of hats. She's much more striking than a styrofoam mold. I'd have snapped her up too!
