Design your own stamps

A package came in the mail today.

A stamp I designed! It's from Stamptitude, a shop offering custom-made, self-inking stamps. Run by a husband and wife team, the little company just opened their doors. They agreed to make me a complimentary product sample to review, so I simplified the design I'd put on those foil cards and sent it over. VoilĂ ! It has been magically reincarnated as a pre-inked stamp! When the ink runs out someday, I can just pour in more. No need for a stamp pad.

This thing is going to be really useful. On envelopes and packages, at the top of note paper, on post-its, gift tags, wine bottle tags, treat bags, business cards... I might go around stamping everything. I totally love it.

Some of the first impressions I made with it were pretty patchy, but I figured out I needed to press harder and leave the design depressed against the paper longer. According the website's FAQ's, you can also adjust the amount of ink flow by using the "lift & twist" mechanism at the base of the handle.

Stamptitude's custom stamps are quite affordable; prices start at $12. Just create your design, choose a shape, size and ink color, and upload your artwork. They ship globally. Order here.

The prices jumped since you posted about this. I managed to see the $12 starting price and a few hours later it was up to $16. Disappointing but the prices actually make more sense now.

Oh, that's interesting! Thanks for the update, ElleElle.

Annette, yes. Email me, and then I'll put you in contact with the folks at Stamptitude. We'll see if they still have the file.

Ok, I have to say, these are pretty darn awesome. I'm going to have to get some to put the cherry on top to finalize my packaging. Loving the round one!

Oh, that's too amazing!

I live in the UK and always wonder why amazing things like this (and Spoonflower) are all US-based. I spend a fortune in shipping stuff over to me. But this is irresistible, so I think I need to get my shipping money ready!

I swear to you I'm not crazy. I went on the site again and it's back to $12. I triple checked myself before making a comment the first time. Really I did!

Jessica Jones said...

I believe you! I double checked too, when you first mentioned that starting prices had changed to $16! I guess this shop is so new that they are still experimenting with pricing.

slightly random question - when you lessen the ink flow does it make it more of a gray color or does it just make it not come out right? I really want to order one but gray suits my branding more than black so I'm not quite sure. :)

Jessica Jones said...

It won't change the color, just the amount of ink that comes out. The ink will still be black.

That's what I thought. Thanks :)

These are so adorable! Is it a pre inked rubber stamp? I totally want to design one that says "Thank You" so I can use it for my wedding thank you's.

Jessica Jones said...

Yep, it's pre-inked.

If it's just a circle with some type in the middle, can you really say *you* designed it?

Jessica Jones said...

I think it was me since nobody else works in my office. :) I'm sure the designers who created logos for ABC TV, Lucky Strike, Tide, WordPress, and countless others would say they designed them, since those particular arrangements of circles and lettering didn't happen by accident. Everything is designed by somebody.
