DIY zippered pouch with gusset

Those who like to sew small, cute things (as opposed to large, ugly things?) might enjoy the zipper card pouch tutorial from Joanne at Craft Passion. My mom just tried it out and here's the result. Adorableness! Mum, did you put your Discover card on top because you knew I'd like the orange ball?

You can store some credit cards or a bit of cash in there.

Or put in some wallet-sized photos of your favorite grandchild to show off to friends and family. If you don't have a grandchild, maybe you have a pet or a houseplant.

The Discover card ball? Well, yes! Of course! I ALWAYS try to please you!!

No, I actually did it because the orange went nicely with the zipper.

In all honesty, I gave it no thought at all. Ha!

Really? Then I think your subconscious mind led you to do it intuitively--your subconscious mind that secretly likes orange, even though your conscious mind, and your mouth, have said that you don't. :)

I think my subconscious mind was REALLY telling me: "Hurry up and get this done. We need a nap!"

Oh yes yes yes. I'm making this one. SO adorable, like you said. Love that turquoise/orange color scheme she used.

OMG, Grandma G, I love the vivid color combo you used and the stripe fabric Jess designed.
The zipper card pouch is like SUMMER by the beach, blue ocean and bright sun shinny day!!!
Thanks for sewing it from my tutorial and you did a very good job, it is flawless!!!!

Ooohh... I love your analogy, Joanne!

Now I feel like I have to confess something. The fabric/color combo was Jess's suggestion. But I 'might' have chosen it if she'd given me a chance!! ;)

Thanks, everyone!

Ah! That reminds me, I need to get more wallet sized prints of my houseplant.

That's right, carry that fern around with you at all times.

Seriously, your mum is ace! Thanks for the tutorial, perfect for those small, ahem, 'girly products' that you don't want rolling around in the bottom of your handbag.

Your Mom is my sewing hero! Every project surprises and delights. Then again, using a great fabric design is the icing on the cake.

Why can't I sew? This is exactly what I need, and have been looking for in stores all summer. Have to find a friend who can use a sewing machine.
