Jonathan Adler toilet paper holders? | How About Orange

Jonathan Adler toilet paper holders?

I'm a big Jonathan Adler fan. And now I see (via Felt & Wire) that he has designed some toilet paper boxes for Cottonelle. Yours for a mere $1.99 when you buy a specially marked roll of TP. I'm torn between "what the heck would I need that for" and "shoot, they're kind of cool and I could put something else in there." Plus I received this awesomely orange Jonathan Adler turtle tray for Christmas and it might need a friend. (Not that I keep the tray near the toilet, I hasten to add.)

Mr. Adler intends the TP covers to be "mood-enhancing." Wow. So just think how mind-blowing my baño would be if I added toilet paper origami, too. I could go sit in there whenever I felt sad.

Oh Mr Adler...

You know - the first thing I did when I visited Chicago (I´m swedish) in September was to look up his store there. The very FIRST thing - when I had bought what I wanted I could relax and look at other stores/museums and such. Hardcore fan in other words! :-)

Cut a hole in the top and they'd be perfect for holding yarn for a knitting project in progress!

Shayna. You're smart.

I think I'd actually like having the TP roll holders, as I have two cats and an active child. It'd just prevent the unrolled rolls all over the house :D

I actually have one of these> i got it for free when cottenelle was having the first promotion for them. You just had to sign up for it. Any way, its awesome, I use it for putting craft supplies in. It actually holds alot and its pretty. The only thing that shows that its supposed to be for toilet paper is a small logo on the top you can't even see because its the same color as the lid.

I was going to add that I like the one i got for free so much, that i was going to get the one you buy. I didn't know it was 1.99 but i bought cottenelle and didn't realize it was the specially marked package until i got home and got excited since the original one was one per household.

I've always thought those TP covers were silly. Not anymore... :)

Well, sorry, my dear acrylic crocheted doll - you've been replaced. ;)

Ha! Good riddance. Though Jonathan Adler has designed for Barbie, too, so maybe his next project will be a Barbie toilet paper cover with a big crocheted skirt. Watch out. :)

I also got one of these when they were given out free by mail. I wasn't really sure how I was going to use it.
Until I got a kitten ;)
She has a thing for toilet paper, and its just not unrolling it (tried the putting it backwards trick), she just likes to tear it apart.
I found that this works really great so I actually can have toilet paper that isn't shredded...plus I love the designs. I didn't know that they have them for sale..I'll have to check that out.

I read your post and jumped over and purchased one of each design for $12.35 with shipping. Crazy but I love the colors and designs. I will use them as little storage boxes for office supplies on shelves. Love them!

Actually, I'm still stuck on the phrase "what the heck would you need that for". If I were to buy one ('cause it's cute, isn't it?), I'd definitely not use it for toilet paper. I love your blog, I don't know if I ever said that or if I ever left a comment before, but I do. Keep up the good work!

I love your blog and your work (If I could afford your awesome logo work for my start-up business, I would hire you in a heartbeat!). This post just made me laugh...and then I wondered if my grocery store has them...I'll have to check! I agree that they are so cute it's a waste (haha...that's a pun sort of!) to use it for TP!

Respect the roll.
Argh! why do those stupid phrases get stuck in my head? (and npw possibly in yours)

It can be used as facial tissue during this cold season. I'm really a fan of your blog and fabrics.

I would actually use them for the extra toilet paper rolls in my main bathroom. There is no room for storage in there so the rolls just perch on the back of the toiler. Would be fun to dress them up a bit!

I want to make some toilet paper holder boxes now ...

I have a tall cardboard oatmeal container that would be perfect. Must. Eat. More. Oatmeal.

I just quit my job, so right now I will rejoice in the fact that I can afford something designer - even if it is meant to sit in the loo!

Ha-ha, I've actually been wondering what kind of nice vessel I could keep the spare loo roll in in my bathroom, so those containers would be perfect!

As any cat owner will tell you... This is brilliant. Finally something to keep the tp in that the cats can't open.
