It's Chicago Craft Social time

Many of you are familiar with the project-making, snack-eating, meet-and-greeting event that is Craft Social. Our original planning team, with the exception of Amanda Edwards, has retired from the job after producing three of these megaparties. Now I'm delighted to announce that Amanda is taking the reins and adding even more fabulousness to Chicago Craft Socials. In the past, we gave you some food and hoped you didn't poke your eye out with a scissors. Now you get food and cool free stuff, plus the usual awesome projects to attempt while you try not to poke your eye out with a scissors.

Learn more on the blog, get event details, and register here. The Craft Social is next Friday, June 18, in Evanston.

Makes me want to go to Chicago even more. Know of any craft socials in NY?

I knew of someone who was going to start one in NY, but she just moved to Chicago. Dang!

Chicago Craft Social sounds so cool! I'm jealous every time I see you post about one.

Is there any place we can find information about starting one in our cities?

Maybe the planners of Chicago Craft Social need to have a webinar to help their sistas out!

Anyone else new to Chicago and still wants to go to the craft social? We could band together, like the buddy system!

This sounds so fun! I would love to go and I live in the burbs, but I feel like I need a friend to go with so I don't feel like a loser! : )

I found your blog while searching for a way to recycle magazines. Your coaster tutorial popped up, which led me to your really cute and eclectic blog. I feature a blog each day on my blog, and today (June 5) I'm featuring yours.

I just saw your fabric in "One-Yard Wonder's" by Yaker and Hoskins. They used it for a hot dish cover. Pretty cool. (Maybe you are already aware since it was published in 2009.)

I've been a lurker here for two-years....love the blog.....

I did see that--so fun! Thanks for mentioning it!

I don't know if you've heard about this, but maybe Chicago Craft Social could be part of Etsy's Craft Party (http://www.etsy.com/storque/events/throw-an-etsy-craft-party-in-your-town-8083/). I'll bet Chicago (Evanston) could win for one of the 50 sites with the most attendees, earning lots o' goodies for participants. Who doesn't love goodies? =)
