Quirky, hand-drawn fonts are more popular than ever. If you need another one for your typeface arsenal, try out Mathlete from Mattox Shuler. It comes in four styles: Skinny, Skinny Slant, Bulky, and Bulky Slant. Best of all, it's free! Get Mathlete here.
The name takes me back to my days on the high school math team. Too bad I've forgotten every single thing I ever knew. I recently asked my engineer husband what that little symbol in calculus is called that looks like a fancy "S." I used to be able to solve problems that had those things. Nerds who can still do math, I salute you.

You've forgotten all that "valuable-for-everyday-use" information?! Aww, shucks! ;) (At least you learned it once. That's more than I can say!)

I often have dreams where I go to my college calc class and they hand out a test I didn't study for. I panic. Then I wake up. This is the only recurring dream I ever have.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear... musta been a stressful class! And now when you get stressed, you get to revisit it! Eek! At least you get to wake up and realize it's not real.

I was a mathlete too! In fact, our coach had the atheletic department bestow letters on us! But I admit, the thing that you can't remember that looks like an S...that didn't even ring a bell for me!
ReplyDeleteI love this font! I wasn't much of a mathlete, myself, but I have a lot of friends who were.
ReplyDeleteI like this font .Thanks for the post
ReplyDeleteAwesome font! Thank you sooooooooo much!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely wasn't a mathlete, though I've come into my own as an adult. Math doesn't make me sweat anymore. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the font!
The fancy S is an integral sign.

ReplyDeleteYou were a mathlete? (snicker) Actually, that's pretty awesome that BOTH halves of your brain overachieve. I bow to you.
ReplyDeleteI'll enJOY using this font to label my blog pics. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Larissa... I don't know where she got all that!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anybody noticed the "sweet as pi".

Love it! It can be hard to find fonts that look hand drawn while still being legible. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI love this font... but the link doesn't seem to work anymore. Do you know any similar hand-drawn fonts? Thank you?
ReplyDeleteI guess the website moved. I googled just now and found it at Font Squirrel, so I've updated the link.
ReplyDeleteAwesome font....
