I'm off the rest of the week for Thanksgiving, but first I wanted to show you my new favorite orange thing: apple sweet potato juice. It's been affectionately dubbed "Jess Juice" by Alex, who has been experimenting with his juicer (this model). The fact that this fall drink happens to be my favorite color is just a bonus. The apple is tart and refreshing, and the sweet potato gives it creaminess and mellows it out to something nearly dessert-like. A sprinkle of cinnamon on top makes it perfect. The recipe is just two big apples and two raw sweet potatoes. Adjust the proportions to your liking, of course.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, all!
Have a happy Thanksgiving, all!
Happy, happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteMmmm! I still haven't tried it yet, but must soon!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you, too! Wish you were (gonna be) here!
Love,
Mum
Yum, yum! Wish I had a juicer in my possession.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a juicer for a while (all that health power!) but have been put off by the potential cleaning nightmare. How are you finding it?
ReplyDeleteI've thrown a sweet potato into the juicer before, but there was already carrot in the mix, so it didn't add much. I will have to try this!
ReplyDeleteCleaning the juicer is the WORST! But all I have is an old Juiceman juicer, newer juicers are probably easier to clean.
very good

I have never heard of such a thing. Now I want to try it. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet potato and apple juice? Sounds very strange, but it looks good.
ReplyDeleteAbout cleaning, I haven't done it myself yet, but this model is known for its easy cleaning. My hubby says it's quick and no trouble, one of the reasons he picked this one.
ReplyDeleteI love this juice... but I also add ginger to mine. I love the warmth in the winter!
ReplyDeleteI recently made a delicious juice of orange (peeled), carrot and sweet potato (peeled). SO GOOD!
