Match a cocktail to your favorite music

After days out of town, I've got a work pile-up and an overflowing inbox. I struggled all day to resist the impulse to lie on the couch and eat cookies. If you, too, need a breather (and something stronger than cookies), try out Drinkify. Type in a musician or band, and you'll get a cocktail recipe to pair it with! (Via It's a Small Web.)

  1. Couldn't you type in your favorite kind of cookies and get a drink to go with them? 'Course it'd prob'ly be hot chocolate, but that'd be fine in my book! ;)

  2. I just typed in "Cookies" and learned I was supposed to drink a wine cooler with that. :)

  5. It's funny, it reminds me of L'Ecume des Jours from Boris Vian, where a machine connected to a piano makes a cocktail depending on the tune the pianist is playing.

  6. This is great! I tried several musicians, most of the suggestions came up with whiskey on the rocks...But, the Bob Marley suggestion is hilarious. Garnish with flag. :)

  8. It says that if I'm listening to Bowie, I should drink an entire bottle of red wine. It has a point there. But if I'm listening to Chet Baker, it says I should drink six oz. of red wine over ice, garnished with a cocktail onion. That is very, very wrong.

  11. Every band I put in returns the suggestion of gin, neat, sometimes in ridiculous amounts. I don't even like gin. :/

  15. Apparently the only thing that goes with the band Bag Raiders (who are actually pretty okay) is 12oz of vodka. Good to know.
