The other night I was designing something for a friend's wedding and needed some fancy curlicues. I could make some—but I'm lazy. I opted for a quick internet search for free vector graphics and found lots of useful goodies.
If you have a vector editing program like Adobe Illustrator, you might be interested in these from the Vector Graphics Blog:
Ornate design elements
Vintage decorative elements
Vintage decorative frames
Vintage ornate frames
Plus lots more where those came from. A word of caution: you'll need to navigate through a minefield of advertising links to get these, so be careful what you click. Skip the Google ads and click "Download link" midway down the page. When directed to MediaFire, ignore all the large flashing buttons! Look for the name of the .zip file and directly underneath, choose "Click here to start download from MediaFire."
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot hard work being given away for free. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are lazy.

Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSo cool !
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Why can't people give these away in PS brushes!?
ReplyDelete---off to learn vector images!
Oh I like, thank you! Some of the others that I found on the same webpage look just like the swedish kurbits pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteI am also from Denmark (but living in the US). Boligliv has been around for a while I think, but I never really paid attention to it before, so thanks for peaking my interest:)
ReplyDeleteAnd if you need any help translating or whatever, send me an email.

ReplyDeleteGreat stuff!! I was looking for terms of use agreements and couldn't find anything. Do you know where I can find these?
ReplyDeleteThanks,

ReplyDeleteI feel crazy here! Am I the only one who can't figure out how to download these...?

ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks!
ReplyDeletethanks for the navigation help... puh... flashy buttons everywhere!
ReplyDeletegood find : )
Wow - these are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow thanks for the great resource information!
ReplyDeleteCindy, I wondered about the licensing agreements, too. This is all I can find; apparently people submit their own files, or submit links to other sources marked "free." There doesn't seem to be a way to verify the original source of the file. So I'd probably only feel comfortable using these for personal projects or else modifying them beyond recognition.
ReplyDeleteLove these!! Thanks for the hook up :)
ReplyDeleteCindy and Jessica – Jessica’s instincts are spot on. This design is actually a vector graphic on the pay-for-use site shutterstock.com, which has non-commercial policy I believe. However, check out all-silhouettes.com for free designs similar to Jessica's that can be used for personal or commercial use. Use the Search or Category function to find flourish ornament vectors. Once you find them, if you scroll to the bottom of the page, they have similar vectors to select. They also have a ton of other vectors too. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome (I finally got around to downloading them;):) Thanks, as always, for sharing!
