Tuxedo t-shirt upgraded

This chair is wearing Alex's new do-it-yourself tuxedo t-shirt for our Oscars party. It's the reverse of last year, when I printed the tux graphic in black on our inkjet and ironed it onto a white t-shirt. This year I happened to have some white flocked iron-on material, so I cut out the pieces with my Silhouette cutter and applied them to a black t-shirt. My white stuff was only 9" wide, so it still required cutting out the graphic in two separate pieces. But if you don't look too closely, you can't see the splice. Get the tuxedo template here.

  5. Oh, it's still super cheesy with him in it, alright. I'm just hoping I can find a hideous thrift store dress in time... it's going to be hard to top last year's black and gold number with the giant bow. I believe in maximum cheese for the Oscars.

That's why we're having cheese soup. Seriously. White cheddar soup swirled in a bowl with black bean soup to create black and white Black Swan soup. With Black Swan chocolate martinis, too. In plastic gold glitter martini glasses from the party store. Woo hoo!

  10. That's adorable! A shirt like that might be the only way I could get my husband to wear a tux...and definitely the cheapest! It's very creative. I don't know what Anonymous's deal is, but their time would be better spent studying some grammar and spelling than criticizing others. You certainly should have to put up with such cowardly remarks.

  12. Wear it loud, wear it proud! ;) And I'm with Emily Joyce- you shouldn't have to put up with cowardly remarks and people who hide behind the name Anonymous just to say whatever they want. :( I know everyone has their own opinion, and they are entitled to it, but saying stuff like that is unnecessary- we're supposed to build each other up, so here I am saying that I LOVE the idea of cheesiness for the Oscars! Can't wait to see pics!

  17. I really like this, but what is flocked material? Where could I find it except online?

  18. Flocked means it's got a slightly fuzzy or velvety texture. You've probably seen flocked wallpaper or flocked greeting cards. But as for where to buy it in "real life," I'm not sure! Paper Source stores might be your best bet, if there's one near you.
