A Christmas package came from my friend Megumi in Japan, and one of the goodies inside was this dish cloth/sponge. I'm completely delighted! Designed by Lotta Glave, it's about 6" x 8" and 1/8th inch thick. The only problem is it's so pretty I don't want to get it dirty. Has anyone ever framed a sponge? (Available online in the U.S.
here.)
I wouldn't hesitate to frame a sponge. I love it!
ReplyDeleteooh definitely frame the sponge
ReplyDeleteVery cool sponge. Reminds me of these sponges my friend Priscilla just made: www.smartsponges.com
ReplyDeleteThey help u remember which sponge to use for what - seems obvious but never seen it done before!
Hooray for great sponges :-)
Oh that is adorable! I would absolutely frame it. The website says they naturally decompose after 24 weeks and I'd hate to lose it! LOL! I'm assuming that only happens if you get it wet and use it.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I like your sponge :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's too cute to dirty. Put that sponge in a frame! It would be cute in a frame with an easel so you can sit it near the sink.
ReplyDeleteuse it! It can be washed :)
ReplyDeleteHey I spotted your fabric!

I think I'd have the same problem -- it's just too cute to actually use it :D I'd maybe put it in the kitchen only when expecting some visitors :D
ReplyDelete:) I wouldn't want to use it either! Just frame it!
ReplyDeleteWhile I haven't framed a sponge, I have framed kitchen towels... anything is possible!!!
ReplyDeleteyou can always find the coolest stuff in Japan.
ReplyDeletethat really is fantastic! deserves to be framed.
ReplyDeleteSure it is, Jess; just ask Squidward.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteFrame it for sure.

ReplyDeleteToo cute... a good excuse for not doing dishes!
ReplyDeleteI definitely will frame it. Too pretty!!

It is really nice. I am from Sweden originally, and have seen similar cloths there. Makes washing up a bit more fun...
ReplyDeleteWow. Now that is a sponge.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'd definitely frame it!!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty! I'd definitely avoid using it too.
ReplyDeleteI love it! It is very cool! You definitely must frame the sponge!
ReplyDeleteI can't stop to wonder how it is made...it is silk screening probably?
:")
I've never seen an artfully-made sponge! How neat is this!

Checking out that site now! Thanks for sharing. :D
ReplyDeleteA sponge that's signed - sure I'd hang it up!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I'm always reading it but have neglected to comment for a while.... and I gave you a blog award here -

that confirms it - let's all move to Japan!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered some Marimekko sponges like that! I don't think I'll want to use them, but I just had to have them.
ReplyDeleteI keep my favorite sponge on the fridge. It's a map of the subway in Stockholm, with all the names slightly changed to become dirty words. I get happy every time I lay my eyes on it. (And so are my guests.) I say frame the best ones, use the second best! ;)
ReplyDeleteooh. love love.
