Giveaway: Sears gift cards

Sitting on my desk is a $200 gift card from Sears, and here's my dilemma: should I spend it on myself or on Christmas presents for other people? Look at all the cool goodies $200 would buy you from the Sears website. (If your name is Jess and you like orange things and modern patterns, that is.) That doormat is calling my name. However, my mom is a huge Lands End fan and might never let me hear the end of it if I don't get her some socks, at least. While I ponder this moral dilemma, there's good news for you, too.

To help you with your holiday shopping, Sears is giving away two $50 gift cards to How About Orange readers. The cards can be used in stores and online at Sears, Kmart, and Lands End, so you have tons of options.

To enter the drawing, leave a comment on this post with a way of contacting you, plus one thing you'd like to buy with your gift card. (I need Christmas gift suggestions, so I plan to read through here and steal all your ideas.) The giveaway ends next Wednesday (12/9/09) at midnight CST. Two winners will be selected by a random number generator, announced in this post, and contacted.

Update: Giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to the winning commenters #165— Jessie, and #636—Lynnetta. Happy shopping!

  118. I'd buy baby clothes for my girlfriends' new little ones and probably some maternity clothes for myself!
I also like the idea of stocking up on stuff. With a baby on the way, I would possibly stock up on diapers.
Knowing me, though, I'd probably end up buying some new tools for my husband! It's always more fun to give a gift than buy for yourself!

  119. I would definitely get some bedding. This is a great giveaway! Thank you!

  120. I would buy some ramekins. I really need some, and never can bring myself to buy any!

  121. I have no idea what I would buy, so guess I am no help to you..
I will tell you that I am making quilted checkerboard games for grandkids, grocery bags for the adults and both sons-in-law get quilts this year...
    Does that help?
You know what...I would love to go browse through Sears and then sneak up and pay someone else bill for them...someone that looked like they needed a little Christmas cheer...

  122. I'd love a Sears GC for my husband. He always wants something in the tool dept. There's never a time when he doesn't need a new tool. Love all your ideas...

  150. My suggestion for a gift is that you give something to the pet instead. Pet owners love their animals and it would be a nice change. A toy, a bed, a treat. If I win, I would like to buy something for my Si.

  151. Oh! I'd love to enter. I think my husband would salivate over any tools I bought from Sears. I know we could sure use a quilt that fits our queen size mattress - I'd like to make it, but with a 20 month old it gets a bit crazy over here. And of course stocking stuffers would be fun. In my house growing up, stockings were the best part of Christmas.
Thanks - what a great giveaway. I'm crossing fingers! Happy Holidays!

This is the one I've been ogling (http://www.sears.ca/product/kenmore-md-1-2-size-sewing-machine/20118030?ptag=1 ) and a gift card would go a LONG way towards the cost ... I'd even consider upgrading to this one http://www.sears.ca/product/kenmore-md-horizontal-sewing-machine-46-stitch-functions/20162420?ptag=1. I can be reached through my blog.
