If you need texture photos but have no budget, check out Texture Lovers. The site's photographs are "free to use in commercial and personal work" with no attribution required. Find pictures of fabric, metal, paint, wood, and more.
Hello, I was wondering exactly how you use the texture. Do, you open the photo in photoshop, then the texture and plunk it on top of the photo? I'm new to this kind of stuff and was wondering if you could give a bit more info on it. Thanks so much. Cami
These textures can be used in games but first need to be made seamless in photoshop or paintshop pro before importing them in 3D programs like 3ds max.
Wow! I recently joined this blog and I continue to be amazed with the resources and fun projects that I get from you! I am truly appreciative of the work and time that you put into this!
Thanks so much for the source! I've been dying to put together a blog header, but with NO graphic design skills, I was at a loss. I played around with one of the textures in Picnik and really like the results.
The only issue is that it's not really lining up properly with my blog columns. Grrr...
Thank you so much for the link! I used some of the textures from that site for my illustrations for an assignment. I'll post up a link to my illustrations once I'm done with all of 'em, if you're interested :)
Once again, thank you for sharing this wonderful link :)
(Always a fan of your blog. First time to comment. Oh, and I like orange too. ;p)

ReplyDeleteI also use another good (FREE!) stock site, http://www.sxc.hu/ - plenty of textures, and other shots too.
Thank you for the tip!
ReplyDeletePeople often wonder "what did you take a picture of?" when i sometimes photograph my own textures.
Very useful! Thanks! Now I'll just have to think of something to use one of them for :)
