Here's a visual quiz where you can test your ability to eyeball things. Where's the midpoint? When is the line parallel? You get the idea. I started off horribly but improved enough to get a 2.18. I wonder if taking this quiz every day would help train me, so I'd eventually be able to cut paper and fabric without measuring ever again. Hmm. Somehow I doubt it.

Quiz: Are you a good eyeballer?
Here's a visual quiz where you can test your ability to eyeball things. Where's the midpoint? When is the line parallel? You get the idea. I started off horribly but improved enough to get a 2.18. I wonder if taking this quiz every day would help train me, so I'd eventually be able to cut paper and fabric without measuring ever again. Hmm. Somehow I doubt it.
I had 2.35. I must say that's a really good time waster.

ReplyDeleteI must offer a disclosure: Don't attempt this quiz if you can't remember your math. : ) Although the second time I tried it, I googled the terms first and did much better. : p
ReplyDeleteWow, 2.18, that's impressive! I managed to get 2.5 on my second time around after I remembered what a parallelogram was. :P My weakest was finding the mid-point of the triangle. The best part about this is that I feel like I might actually be exercising my neurons a bit!

ReplyDeleteI agree; the triangle is definitely the hardest one. Yes, don't you feel smarter now that you've done it? It's like weight lifting for your brain. I figure I just delayed senility by about 5 minutes by taking that test.

That's so cool! I have a problem with the parallelogram, though -- I keep trying to put it in perspective!

ReplyDeleteDidn't do so hot... For some reason my "centers" always leans a little to the right. All I have to say is thank goodness for the Align tool in Illustrator/Photoshop or my design skills would be SOL- ha ha! Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteAnd indeed it took me a couple of tries before I even understood what they were looking for on equi-distant triangle prompts.
I got a 10.12 and thought to myself "10 - that must be good' - ok, not so much. Maybe I should put my glasses on and try again. :D

ReplyDeleteI loved that! I could definitely spend way too much time on that. I hate measuring things and ALWAYS eyeball. This is good practice. :)
ReplyDeleteI failed a drafting class due to my eyeballing. He swore up and down I was tracing others drawings. But I wasn't. I wish I had this quiz back then.
