Look at this child's pool robe my mom made from a bath towel for my little niece. Recognize those appliques? Mum is so smart! She didn't have any fancy buttons, so she cut some chunks out of the
Calliope fabric to add some color. And put on some
Fireworks for good measure. The free tutorial for making a robe like this is
right here.
(And now she's back to making
buckets for the shop. I had to crack down on this extra-curricular sewing and put an end to it. Hee hee.)
That is adorable! Your mom is so clever.
ReplyDeletePrecious!
ReplyDeleteoh!!!! so beautiful. thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou "cracked down"?! You crack me UP!
ReplyDeleteMum
P.S. My apologies to those of you who are waiting for buckets. Granddaughter's birthday had to come first. ;-)
Adorable robe! Those buckets are amazing, too. I'll be stopping back to check them out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to that tutorial. It is so dang cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little robe!! She needs to make more so I can buy one.
ReplyDeleteWow. I was always impressed with what your mom can transform, but a bath towel looking so cute and wearable?!
ReplyDeleteThat's just adorable! Love it
ReplyDeleteyour mom is not only amazing, she is also super prolific with the sewing. She's going to turn around our economy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, single-handedly!
ReplyDeleteYour mum is a very talented woman – absolutely keep her on the payroll!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't treat Grandma G well, I'm going to steal her from you.
ReplyDeleteGrandma G-- you can always come work for me! And darling robe!
Thanks for sharing the robe tutorial with us! My boys need this to wear on the boat.
ReplyDeleteMother like daughter!!! What creative genes
ReplyDeleteYour mom did a fabulous job with this transformation. It's just adorable, you're little niece is going to be stylin'.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you everyone!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I already told Jess I wouldn't be making them to sell. Mass producing them would have my house floating in little loopy bits of towels, not to mention my sewing machine dying from lint clogs.
Caroline, thanks for the offer. I just may take you up on that if Jess gets too Bossy! ;-)
No you won't. I forbid you. Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteSee what I hafta put up with?!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute robe!
ReplyDeleteNext time you come to Japan, you should bring your mom together, so that my mom and your mom can be friends!
Yeah! They can sew all day together!
ReplyDeletethat is so adorable- seriously- your mom is so great! I'd buy one of those!
