DIY details
I couldn't resist adding some of my orange tape to this cheap Home Depot shade.
And this chair was in perfect shape except for the beige fabric seat, which had an unfortunate encounter with a candle several months ago. (Picture burned holes and spilled wax.) Now it's all better, recovered with some Boardwalk.

Very nice! Love your blog.
I love the tape idea! Very clever! Gotta love the orange :)
woah - the tape on the shade is an awesome idea. i was just thinking i need to downgrade to some more durable basic ones cuz my cats keep ruining my roman blinds!
Love the racing stripes, wonder how hard it was to get them straight. Great fabric!
you are always able to add a nice touch of your favorite orange in anything. not too over powering. brilliant!

I really like the chair. I have never restored a chair but my mum has. Just shows how much you can save, and how stylish with some creativity. Your blog always inspires.
What a great idea with the tape! I loved the post where you bought the different colored masking tapes and was thinking to myself how awesome they were, but what would one do with them.
Hopefully you'll have more masking tape ideas for us.
what a great idea- orange tape!
How lucky that candle hit the chair and not the carpet!

Love your blog! I just recently recovered two of my chairs in a bright orange. I think you would love it, check it out on my blog.
The chair looks awesome!Did you get the chair from Target? I think I have the same ones in my kitchen. The tape was a cool idea, too.
Ikea.
Tape on shades=clever!
That's an awesome way to add some snaz to blinders and great do over on the chair too! =d
Amazing the big impact a little creativity can have. Well done!!
Nice work with the tape!
We have those Ikea chairs. They're just crying to be recovered. Great idea!
I'm trying to find that shade on Depot's website. Do you know the exact name of it? Is it vinyl? You would think it would be easy to find!
Great ideas. I'm going to try looking for some red fabric for my dining room chairs - my two-year-old seems to have something against the white fabric that is on them now ... she gets stains on them as often as she can!
Courtney, yeah, it's vinyl. Maybe it's too cheap to even appear on the site. It's not a high quality item. Costs about $5 or $10 and they cut it to size for you at the store.
Love the tape on the shades! Genious!
Great job on the seat! Love the material!
Good idea on the curtains! Amazing how little things make such a difference!
I made an orange log cabin quilt for my daughter. You should try it or get someone to do it for you I was amazed how beautiful it came out!

I have those shades in the boys room and that would be perfect to add to them! Now where is my brain to think of things like that?! Oh well, who needs my brain when I have yours? *sigh*
So stealing the tape on shade idea. As a fellow orange addict, thanks!
