Desktop wallpapers

When I sat down at my computer this morning, it was -15º F outside. I decided to put Iceland wallpaper on my computer to commemorate this, until I learned that the average winter temperature in Iceland is 31º F. Practically tropical. Heh. Oh well. Get these wallpapers and others here at PokedStudio.

  1. Yep. Iceland and Greenland pretty much got their names switched at birth.

  2. Gee, if you aren't careful, you'll be competing with our -26° of yesterday morning!

  3. you probably got smth mixed up "The average temperature of the warmest month, July, exceeds 10°C in the lowlands of southern and western Iceland, but is below that in other parts of the country. This makes the larger part of Iceland belonging to the arctic climate zone. The warmest summer days around Iceland can reach 20-25°C, with the absolutely highest temperatures recorded at around +30°C." source http://www3.hi.is/~oi/climate_in_iceland.htm

  6. I have to agree with your beloved mother, Jess; you Chicagoans are, to quote from a commercial of my youth, "wimpy, wimpy, wimpy!" compared to we up here in Baja Manitoba.

  8. Jess, your "beloved mother" did not say you were wimpy! Not even close! Read it again to make sure! I think ol' Al was seein' things what weren't there!!!

('Course you 'have' gotten kinda wimpy in your old age. It's just that I didn't say that before.)

    ;-D

  9. I will deflect all blame unto myself for the "wimpy" quote; we all *know* Beloved Grandma G would never make such an accusation of her own child.

At least not as overtly as a friend from college, who hides behind a facade of gentility and good manners.

  11. Hi Jessica,
I finally ordered one of your fabrics, which is not that easy, in the Netherlands it is hard to find!
But via Caroline creative I managed ;)
I don't know yet what to make, but it will be nice ;)

  12. I'm trying to talk friends into a trip to Iceland. There's a travel special $500 for double occupancy, but it ends in March. Kismet! I *must* go now!

  14. I just stumbled over here from Apartment Therapy (LOVE your house, by the way) and I don't even know where to start. What a great blog! I think my first project might be the chocolate cake in a mug (the blogger-revised recipe, of course).

  19. Jess, I suppose I should point out that, with the temperatures we hit up here in Baja Manitoba, our distinguished alma mater still didn't close.

Always looking out for the safety of their students, that's the U!
