Checkbook cover

I just completed my first project in which I sewed ribbon onto something. Behold: a checkbook cover made with the new ribbon. Too bad my checkbook doesn't fit in it. That's right, you heard me. I used this nice tutorial, but clearly I didn't check closely enough to make sure I was doing it right. But on a happy note, I didn't say any bad words or smash anything, either.

  4. Aww, it came out really cute! :-D It's okay about the sizing, I've done stuff like that and I'm sure so has everyone else. Maybe you can give it to a little kid to use as a "wallet" or something.

Anyway, it's super cute. :) I'm sure if you ever wanted to make a bunch and sell them, they would do really well.

  5. It's so pretty! Love your ribbons. Pity hardly anyone uses cheques here (in the UK) any longer, I would make one of those.

  6. Who uses a checkbook these days? :)
I'm all in love with the Bambi Airstream. Have you ever been in one? They are sweet!!!!

  7. Been there done that. I once measured and cut something three times, and it was STILL wrong. At that particular moment, I was a credit to my hair color stereotype (blond of course!).

  8. Oops. I guess I should catch up on your blog b4 commenting. Wow though! Bisbee! I stayed at the Copper Queen in the 80s in July! And I still have my Spirograph from way back when b4 you were born.

    I guess it's official, I'm retro.

  11. How cute! (And thanks for even admitting to us that it doesn't fit...kind of reassuring for a novice here).

And I use checks ALL the time: my babysitters, housekeeper, therapist...oy vey!

  17. Now, wouldn't the piggy bank ribbon have been a more apt choice for a checkbook cover?:)

  22. All of your ribbon designs are so cute and so is this little project. Just cut your check book in half - is should fit then! ;-)

  23. It could possibly work as a small change purse, it's a bit too cute to not be used.

  24. it's adorable! :)

by the way, i tried ordering your ribbons, esp. the cupcakes ones..but they don't ship to India! :(

  25. Creatist, actually I haven't designed any cupcake ribbons—you're probably talking about Kathleen Rietz's ribbon. But I do happen to know that if you'd like to have something from Caroline's shop, just send her an email and she'll try to accommodate your request. Like shipping to India. (She's on vacation for a week, though, so you might wait a bit.)

  26. Cute! Too bad about the size. Maybe a notebook would fit in it or something.
