  1. My favorite is #13: "Colors can't clash."

  2. 4. "Paint your floors white. You’ll feel carefree."

Ummmm... nope... you'll feel like you need to be washing them ALL THE TIME! ;-\

This is more to my taste: 8. "Chocolate brown and baby blue are perfect together."

  4. Amen to what Grandma G said about the white floors. Don't believe me? Come to my kitchen sometime. (Yes, I live in a house where some previous nutjob who lived here decided that ALL WHITE CERAMIC TILE FLOORS would be perfect for a KITCHEN!)

I like the last "rule" about using stuff that makes you happy, but does anybody know what "regal furniture" is best for a bathroom? Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I don't have ANY furniture in my bathrooms -- except for the porcelain stuff that's nailed to the floor...

  8. Hey! Thanks for sharing the article. My fave's #8. I seem to be drawn to baby blue and chocolate brown! And i totally agree with #15 "It should hold things created and inspired by passionate people. Personal style should make you happy and happiness is chic." Cheerio!

  9. 8. Chocolate brown and baby blue are perfect together. They’re uptown, they’re downtown, they’re classic and fashion forward.

Yay! My latest color obsession is apparently fashion forward (while I, myself, am not necessarily!!)

  12. My front door is orange too. But my floors are definitely *not* white. If they were, I'd be cleaning them now instead of procrastinating here!

  14. had to laugh about orange being the pop color. in the early 70"s (yeah, i'm old), i had a small house and i painted much of it shades of orange. when i went to sell this house a lookyloo asked, "why did you paint your house orange?" i had to bit my tongue!

  16. #8 is so me...I love combining browns and blues together. It just has this nice French-country feeling...very calming. Whereas #5 reminds me of my boyfriend's new house. We chose a bright mandarin orange (Sherwin Williams - Mandarin Orange) for the master bath--it looks soooo sharp! (I'll have to remember to post a pic on my blog soon) ^_^

  17. Well, Carrie, I suppose Mr. Adler, design celebrity that he is, is used to decorating bathrooms that are the size of my entire condo, so maybe he has room to put Chippendale dining sets in there or something.

  18. Did you see that Barnes & Noble is carrying a line of Jonathan Adler office-type stuff? It's file folders and pencils and notepads and and and...

  19. That's great!

    12. Primary colors are happy colors – use them abundantly.

Most of my home is red, yellow, and blue... So perfect!

And I love his thoughts on orange too. Orange has never been my personal favorite color at all, but I LOVE it in decor!!!!!!!!
