Getting in the mood

To add to the fabric post, there are three things I require in order to start designing. 1) A happy-looking office—that's my seat there by the window. 2) A nice latte made with this. 3) One of my Pandora radio stations playing on my computer. Then I can settle in and get to work.

  1. I've got my Pandora station set up just "so" and honestly, it's the best motivator!

  2. Hmmm. I had been using Launch, but now I think I may have to switch to pandora... I had never heard of it!

I love the office... nice and bright!

  8. Hi! I'm Marla. Someone on BooMama's site linked to yours, and I had to pop over. My senior year in college I went through an orange phase. I scoured thrift stores for orange things (even found an old phone), decorated my dorm room completely in orange, wore orange every day, even spray-painted my white Chuck Taylor All-Star shoes orange.

A few months later I was so burnt :) out on the color I never wanted to see it again.

I'm more of a blue/green girl now, but orange still has a special place in my heart. :)

    Love the site!

  9. Marla, I'm glad you don't totally detest orange now. I love your story!

  10. Oooooh, orange is my new favorite color!! With aqua is my preference, but I'm being wishy-washy about committing to it for my actual walls! :) LOVE your site--had fun poking around today! I took the color quiz for Pitts. Paints--very cool. Going to get some chips this week. Thanks for the inspiration--I adore your apartment!!!

  12. I love your office! My daughter is starting to do her room in an orange like the little platforms that are supporting your computer screens and white with hits of blue. She picked out the funkiest light for the center of her bedroom from the thrift shop and when the weather gets a little more reliable we will paint it, of course I will blog the whole experience lol

  14. Your workspace reminds me of a Pottery Barn Catalog...only they haven't discovered orange yet. Way to be ahead of the game.

  16. Where is the desk/table from? It's exactly what I need for my office...

  17. They're actually mismatched tables. The near one is from a furniture in Madison, WI. (Forgot the name; we got it ages ago and it used to be our dining table.) The far table is from Ikea. A choose-your-own leg and top deal.

  21. You have such great ideas! I have been reading your blog for some time and wish I could do have the stuff you've posted. I was wondering, in regards to this particular post, where you got your computer stands... and the orange paper organizer? I have been looking for something like that for some time.

    Thanks,
    Kelli

  22. We made the computer stands (see here) and the orange organizers were from a Blick art store. They were also available at seejanework.com; not sure if they're still there.
