Make little paper buildings

Look at this website! You can download tons of papercraft models for little dollhouses and shops and all the furnishings that go in them. I would have loved this when I was a kid. (Okay. Who am I kidding. I still love it.) The food models are cute, too, especially the paper sushi. Via Papercraft World.

  3. These are fantastic - my daughter and I will be giving these a shot for sure.

Also, I just saw the post in CRAFT's blog about your new line of fabrics - which look AWESOME! Congratulations. Just in time for us to do a little redecorating around our pad.

Keep up the fine and uniquely with-it work, blog and otherwise, Jess!

  4. Wow, my great aunt use to have one of these (not exactly) but it was a origami play house. I loved playing with it when I was little. Thanks for sharing.

  6. For Janice:

If you click on the picture, it takes you to a close up where you can scroll over zoom-ins.

Below, you'll see 3 pink/purple pill shaped buttons. The first will let you download the house. The second will let you download the directions. The last one will link you to places where you purchase the set.

  14. Oh that is as much fun as the Canon "creative park' site.... If you want a rough translation, copy the web page address, open Google, click on language tools, paste the address in the bit that says "translate web page" and choose "Japanese to English", hit "translate". You can't download from the translated page but you will know more or less what they are on about...

  15. these are so cool, we are in Japan and my son is half Japanese, he will love playing (not quite up to making) with Baa-chan's (gran's) living room.
If you go to this page
    http://paperm.jp/craft/index.html
at the bottom there are pictures in a 'shelf' click on these to see different paper crafts, bugs, food etc. When you click on the picture you like you will have a picture with 3 buttons to the right, the top one is the PDF file for craft, the middle one is PDF instructions and the bottom one you don't need.

PS - I LOVE your fabric too, any chance of any of it making it over to Japan?

  16. I have a quick question. How did you add the downloadable pdf files to your blog? I have a few templates I'd love to add to mine, but am not sure how to go about it.

    Thanks!

  17. I love these! I've done about 4 or 5 models of those last year and they are so cute. The only problem is finding a place to put them afterwards since there are 12 models or so, especially since I have two cats dying to destroy it.

  18. Curlytop, if your file is a jpg or other picture file, you can create a new Blogger post and upload the image, but don't publish that post. Copy the URL for the image and use that when you make your "click here" download link. Blogger and other photo hosting sites don't let you upload PDFs, though (as far as I've found). Actually I upload all my "downloadable" files to my jessicajonesdesign.com web host storage bin, because I can upload any kind of file there. I really don't know much about this, though, so try our friend Google!

  23. I just stumbled upon your blog near the end of last year and found this post in your archives. I'm a graphic designer and was desperately in need of a creative break at the time. I printed out and built several of them to the point where my mantle looked like a little street in Tokyo. Thanks for the great link!
