Chocolate bread pudding

This is so yummy. The perfect warm, gooey, wintry comfort food.

Ingredients:
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups chocolate milk
3/4 cup sugar
3 Tbs. melted butter
1 Tbs. cocoa
6 cups cubed French bread
1 cup (6 oz.) chocolate chips

What to do:
Combine eggs, milk, and next 3 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring well. Add bread cubes; let sit 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in chocolate chips. Put mixture into greased 9-inch square baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350ยบ for 50 min. to 1 hour or until set. Serve warm or at room temp. Add some whipped cream if you like.

  14. Hi Ruthie. That's what the recipe says, but I think I used something that wasn't French bread. To me, French bread=long, skinny baguette with hard outer crust and a soft, chewy inside. But I bought a loaf that was shaped like a big oval, and the outside wasn't as hard and crusty. I don't think it will matter what kind of white bread you use, because it just gets chopped into pieces and soaks up all the egg mixture, becoming completely soggy. Hope that helps!

  17. I made this for Xmas last year. HUGE hit! It's just sweet enough and great with coffee. LOVE your recipes and make the cream cheese cupcakes all the time. Keep 'em coming and happy thanksgiving!
