Some big shoes to fill

So my good buddy Megan was moved by my shoe size angst and felt inspired to find me some websites listing celebrity shoe sizes. In case anybody wondered (unlikely), the following ladies also wear size 11s: Uma Thurman, Kate Winslet, Heidi Klum, and Paris Hilton. Oprah's a 10.5; not bad. And I believe all of this, because the internet never lies.

10 plus here. Those shoes look like they would have to be an 11 for me.

Yeah, these are the only pair of impulsively purchased shoes I've ever bought. Normally I plan and search and agonize and settle. But these 11 N's I found at Nordstrom Rack, on sale, and in my size!

I hear you! not everyone is a size 8! I was lucky to find a fantastic pair of heels this weekend at DSW- of course they cost twice as much as the dress I purchased to go with them- but when you find true love.....

Try being a vegetarian and a size 11! I have all my office shoes custom-made in England (at significant expense) from a company that doesn't use leather. For everything else, I pretty much have to shop at Payless and the shoes are crap.

I feel your pain! The worst is when you see a cute pair of shoes and ask for your size, but when you open up the box they are no longer cute... instead they've ben transformed into giant leather canoes! At least some major Dept stores (and Target!)have begun to carry Sz 11...before I had to order them off Zappos and pay full price!

Oh my gosh, Kaelin, that is totally the truth! What's cute in a darling little 6 is NOT cute in an oafish 11! I can't TELL you how many times I've been disappointed. Except for these pink ones I stumbled upon. Still cute in 11, I think. To make matters worse, I need narrow, so most of the mainstream 11s still don't fit.

Woe is us. But misery loves company, so I've been absolutely delighted to hear from all of you!

Where does everyone have the most luck finding size 11's. I've been having a heck of a time lately.

I have the best luck at Nordstroms and DSW. I used to like a pair of flats that Target carried but that was a few years back. And btw I totally hear you on the 11 narrows as far at sneakers go I always buy mens or pumas because they tend to fit my narrow heel more.

You can try zappos.com and shoebuy.com online. They have a lot. And the shipping is free to return them. Which you'll have to do sometimes, since you can't try them on.

Sofft and Naturalizer have been winners for me before. Keds has 11s too. I want some Eleanor Grosch skimmers from Keds, but I think they might be too wide. Sigh.

barefoottess.com is another good site that carries shoes ranging from sizes 5-14.

That site is news to me! I've bookmarked it. Yay. Thanks for the recommendation!

Macy's told me they don't stock "oversized" shoes once....harsh. I wear a 10 in Aerosoles and an 11 in everything else.

Rack Room Shoes and Famous Footwear work for me sometimes. They still often don't have the shoes I want in an 11 because so many companies still don't make them. Aerosoles saved my life as far as works shoes. They come in widths too.

DSW never has the shoes I want in an 11. I don't even go in there anymore.
