My favorite thing about Italy

The guys selling fake Gucci bags on the street? No! The coffee. Swiss Ms. and Mr. gave me some espresso and a frother as an early birthday present, so now I can make some foamy cappuccinos of my very own. I found even more inspiration for myself at the Metropolis website, where I uncovered this latte art video. I love Metropolis so. I love coffee so.

I love the macro setting on my camera so.

Me too I have this "thing" to make cappuccino (sorry, I do not know its name in English!) and I can assure that it makes a perfect cappuccino!

PS: very nice blog, I read it every day and it is very inspiring!! :)

Karl, only if I can use the macro setting on every shot.

La Woodstock, thanks! I look forward to making lots of perfect cappuccinos with that thing.

You so nailed it! The coffee is amazing. At first I was like- whew this will put hair on my chest. But by the end of my stay I was in love. When I got home and had a DD's coffee it tasted like water! The ice cream tasted like water when I got home too. Gotta love that gelato

The latte art was pretty cool! I'll expect you to make me some like that in a couple of weeks. Or a frothy cappuccino will do. You should be pretty practiced up by then. Also, I'll need some more Metropolis coffee by then, too. Spice Island... mmmmmm!!!

Love you and can't wait to see you!

Great pic. And I love it that "Karl Rove" commented on your post. : )

But beware: morning lattes are addictive. My sister got us an espresso machine for our anniversary three years ago and we haven't seen our coffee maker since except when my husband's dad comes to visit.

I got a stove top espresso maker for Christmas along with a frother. Best present ever.

When we were in France last year, every morning our Italian hosts at the inn we were staying at would deliver to me the perfect espresso and steamed milk. I longed for it after we returned and my sister-in-law made my day when she gave me that gift.

Oh real coffee - that'll be addictive :). I have to have an illy cappucino every morning or the day isn't worth it. I moved from using a stove top to an electric espresso machine about a year ago, and I love it, but I still use my little frother.

I wasn't what you'd call a coffee drinker before going to Italy. Sure, I liked the sweet & frothy concoctions at Starbucks, but I could live with out my daily dose of joe. And then we went to Rome & Florence and I had to have espresso and cappuccino everyday. We eventually went out and bought an espresso machine and a frother. We use a Bodum milk frother and it makes wonderful froth. In fact, I'm drinking a nice smooth cappuccino now.
