Stripey twirly art

Here are some of the first paintings I made to fill up the empty walls in our condo. Maybe a year ago? Can't recall. Here they are in their natural habitat.

First I painted the backgrounds, then I used some transfer paper to draw on the main big shapes from some enlarged victorian ornaments in a Dover clip art book I have. Then I used a Sharpie to draw in the details.

I recently started painting art for our first townhouse and have you to thank for some of the inspiration and confidence. I had the BF strech fabric over some homeade frames, I went to painting and they turned out great. Thanks for the inspiration!

Love the effect and the contrast between the background and the foreground.
